Such a horrible case..

WARNING: the following story contains some gruesome and potentially very shocking details. Very sensitive readers are advised not to read any further.

These days a couple are trialed in Germany for letting their 7 year old daughter starve to death in gruesome conditions, after years of malnourishment and total isolation:

Here’s a link to an artikel written right after the horrible discovery was made in March: deutsche-welle.de/dw/article … 85,00.html

They could face UP TO 15 years!!! Do they call that justice?? For cases like these, I feel the urge to reconsider the death penalty, even if it goes against all my principles…

Btw, this case reminds me of a similar case in the US, where a girl was locked in a dark room for 13 years before she was discovered and rescued. She never learned to speak because no one was allowed to speak to her because of her extremely violent father… she never saw anything else except her room. Linguistic scientists immediately jumped on the case and used her to investigate the mechanisms of language development  She never learned to speak properly, but at least she got some life afterwards… which wasn’t granted for Jessica…

Omg that’s sooo evil! I hate these evil people who do this to their children! They are as i say, “Evil Black Mages” :wallhit:

I should never have looked at this topic. I can’t stand it! To know this stuff exists and there is nothing you can do is too painful. This stuff is the reason I never watch the news anymore.

Why do i feel like asking a mod or Q to lock this topic?

The worst punishment those criminals can get is repenting. Nothing will make them suffer more than that. It’s also appropriate.

The “horrible” in the topic title should have warned you… Yes it’s painful, but even the most painful cases should never be put out of sight simply because too many people find it too painful. To the contrary… I think these kind of cases tell us how deep the dungeons of today’s society reach in terms of morality, respect, empathy, social values, etc… If one looks only at the brightest aspects of life, one gets a very unrealistic view of what life is. Life is about light AND dark, not OR.
Anyway, I didn’t post it just to shock people… so I’m sorry if i did. I’ve added a warning to the first post.

Yes, why? If it’s too unbearable to read about the darkest truths of mankind, then don’t read them… yet by banishing them to oblivion, ignorance and indifference, you’re actually behaving in the same way as whole communities tend to do with these cases (no offense); behaviour which imo is one of the main breeding grounds for some marginalized people to commit these kind of ghastly crimes.

I couldn’t bring myself to actually look at the links to the articles you posted Mystic. Cruelties make me upset and especially when they’re done to children.

People that do horrors like that to innocent get theirs in the end. Maybe not through us but I’m sure there are other ways. I’m a firm believer in that. Call me crazy but there are very few things that I trust in in this world and Karma is one of them.
