tasting

moved to stuff of dreams since a question was posed about member’s experiences of tasting in and after dreams :moogle:

hi there
I haven’t posted on here for quite a while now.
still having lots of lucid dreams and enjoying them very much but recently I have had dreams where I could taste foods or drink that i have had in a dream and woken up with the taste in my mouth. I am sure other people have experienced this and wonder what they think it is.

I haven’t had a job for about 3months and this has meant most mornings I don’t get up till I wake up normally 11am (I know I am lazy) but most mornings I will be dreaming and hear my mum or sister getting up but I choose never to wake up then, I fall back to sleep and normally have two or more dreams in the next 3hrs before I wake up, but it does feel like I am dreaming for an hour at a time, so not sure how long it is. I keep have repeated places I visit.

Lately had a dream on a horse adventuring over a hillside with a woman on another horse and a dog that could talk, I know I have only ever been on one horse before and that scenario didn’t happen then.
Most of my dreams have nothing to do what actually happens in my waking life.

Well, it’s unlikely that the appropriate chemicals were actually put in your mouth somehow, unless someone did it while you were asleep and your brain decided to have you eat it in the dream.

So assuming it wasn’t real, maybe the taste part of your brain was just “lagging”, so it didn’t stop giving you the taste until after the other things stopped their dream functions.

Maybe hypnapompic hallucination?

I mean, I’ve experienced HH with taste before, so why can’t it be simply hypnapompic hallucination?
