This has to be one of the most sensible replies I’ve heard so far. True, you’d gain a lot of unwanted attention if you were found to be capable of telekinesis, but I don’t think you’d be ridiculed. Firstly, the scientific community (while running around with their arms flailing) would be sure to conclude that the particular specimen was in no way unique. All you have to do is make it clear that everyone is capable of this power, and suddenly you no longer have slanderous terms thrown at people demonstrating control of the ability.
It would NOT be like X-Men, with people furiously offended by those who happen to have this particular power. Instead, we’d witness a new understanding of humanity. Scientists would be scrambling to discover the physical mechanism making it possible, and our way of life would change drastically forever.
This is all clearly a pipe-dream though. Nobody today can demonstrate this power, because it doesn’t exist. It doesn’t work logically, and evidence thus far holds the phenomenon somewhere between ‘fantasy’ and ‘scam’. Sure, people might be afraid to come forth if they suspect they’re life will become nothing but test after test, but seriously now, not a single documented case of telekinesis - ever?
The imagination is far more capable than the person it works for - not everything is real.
voimind58 is my aol/aim sn if u missed it earlier, pm me if u wanna talk about tk.
anyway id lik to thank all you skeptics who posted on here. i really respect your opinions and reasons for saying the things u said. if it werent for you guys there wouldnt be any1 keeping our world safe on the ground. I just gotta say that i hope tk stays a quiet relatively unknown phenomenon and never becomes a big quick trend(use a dictionary if u dont know the difference between trend and phenomenon). I think our country will have an ok time dealin with high gas prices for a lil while than if large amounts of people changed their lifestyle and working time to try bending spoons with their mind if tk was proven to be real. If not that then think about how much casinos would start losing when people use tk to change the odds on crapps or roulette. Or if bad people started using it for sum evil purpose. It would do good to our world, but dont turn back on the fact that people always have a way to f**k up the good things in life. Change IS the most stressful thing in the world, if you like sum kinda scientific proof i use that to base my opinion that tk should not become a trend or possible phenomenon on a large scale if proven real, but if it is u know itll prolly head in that direction anyway. Sorry for u fellow believes i hope u dont think im betrayin u in anyway but i just think things better stay the way they are for now until things start becoming safer to exploit. “when pigs fly” or “when pigs are shot outta cannons cus they cant fly” we’ll never know.
I don’t really beleive but no one had proves or disproved it to me. I was thinking, could you use your powers to protect you from ridicule. You could keep them away from you, or levitate them. Then you really would become a demond.
If the Holographic universe thery is right (Someone says about this in a topic) then you would be able to do TK and much more. The thery is that reality is a hologram and that we are one contious or something. I get it wrong everytime, but I sorta understand it. No RL, no minds, just one big info bank.
I am not saying they are all psychos. I think there are a few of them who actually believes they have this power. Remember that psiwheel and such is very sensetive to airstream/heat, you dont need much wind for it to spin.
yea i dont like that psipog site much either especialy since they banned me. The only video on that thing i think is real is the paper pinwheel one, but thats only because i can do the same thing and it looks lik that(plz dont make a comment telling me i really cant and its just the wind or sumin, i already know thats wut ull think and i already thought ahead and did the same skepticism on it myself just merely accept that sentence as a simple opinion).
Oh and IG i know spoon bending is easy and stuff i just use that cus its the most common ability affiliated with tk, i guess if i said they were trying to slide the spoon across a table that woulda been more accurate to my message. Which is that tk is usually a waste of time. It will only not be a waste of time if the user strengthens it to a point were it becomes useful. And that takes a long time.
Umm by the way “Any question or wonder you have possesses an answer you can get, you only have to seek it” so if you want to you could find out the truth behind tk urself and not take the word of scientists or laws of science, which by the way are never definite they are just the most recent beliefs. And dont take the word of “psychos” on “how to be psychic” sites. A lot of those people dont know what they are talking about.
just follow my quote.
Ive done it a few times actually and it is a really sweet experience. When I did it I wasnt able to see it or anything, I just felt a pulsating ball in my cupped hands. This I figured could be because of 2 reasons;
Yeah there is Chi, Ki, Qi, or whatever you may want to call it. And it is real.
You ‘program’ your brain to believe there is some kind of a force cupped in your hand, and then it makes you feel that imaginary force.
Either way it is a cool experience.
I also think that psipog is a bunch of snobs who think they are better than others. And just look at the rules for the chat, to list a few: Do not talk about Ki ->Kick/ban, No religious or spiritual debates … etc. need i mention why most of the rules are retarded.
I looked at that site, and at the top of the media section notice it says it’s NOT to convince people, but to help learners. I know psychic ability is real because there is just so much evidence for it, I watched a documentary on the History channel about the CIA’s Stargate program (google it), and most of all, my sister was psychic. But this site I have my doubts about. There are many people on the forums talking about what they’ve done to just be 2 or 3 dudes putting up a hoax, but you never know. Also I was reading an article on starmen.net about psychic ability in the real world and how it compares to some old game called Earthbound. Whoever was writing the article claimed to be able to create a visible PSI ball, and months later, someone on the starmen.net forums claimed to be moderately psychic from what he learned at psipog, and that’s how I originally found out on the site.
So my stance is:
Psycic ability = real
PsiPog = may or may not be real, but probably not
Mmm, I dunno. Interesting videos but that still of the swiss army knife just looks like a frozen flash pic. Camera flashes are brief typically 1000/sec or quicker and can freeze just about anything.
The psiwheel reminds me of Uri Gellar’s compass moving trick, but another possibility comes to mind. Our hands (and body) have a small amount of capacitance and inductance that can affect sensitive circuits. Not to forget static electricity. Remember plasma balls? I reckon with enough potential difference in polarity between the pinwheel and hands it could be made to move without having anything to do with TK. I should make something up to experiment with.
You actually tried the spoon-bending thing? I wouldn’t waste my time on some trick like that, if it actually is real. People would just say “Wow you bent it with your hand nobody cares.” Or get bored waiting.
Cyril, has anyone ever told you your avatar looks like the cover on Mutter?
Yesterday afternoon I had a look over that site, you know, being the open-minded person that I am. I came to the conclusion that the author doesn’t appear to be intentionally misleading anyone for her own sake, but equally, that no actual information was really provided in the documentation or step-by-step guide.
I can’t help but wonder why I’ve never seen anyone do this, or read any studies investigating why the properties of the metal appear to be altered merely by focused intention. After all, how often are you eating something and suddenly your fork softens, bending at the slightest influence?
Fork in hand, I gave it a try. My efforts were sincere, but I honestly wasn’t expecting anything to happen for the most part. If you’ve managed to get it to work, by all means, post your experience.
I have tried that spoon-bending few times in the past including recently and guess what? I haven’t been successful with it, but unfortunately, I don’t see it as my time to try out. It can be entertaining if it is actually real, but mmm not for me. Actually I’m a bit skeptic about that… Atheist actually has a point about that… why don’t you eat and all of a sudden it begin to bend? I don’t see that around here…
But don’t worry… I will definitely continue to experiment with it when I’m bored. Can’t say my opinions until I EXPERIENCE it. You know?
I’ll try that psiball thing in math class. If it actually works, I’ll be able to throw it at my teacher as a bonus. Since the psiball thing sounds a lot like meditation, it’ll be good for me even though it doesnt work!
I’ve witnessed a spoon bending. It was done by James Randi, the world’s biggest skeptic, as he was debunking all paranormal phenomenon. He wouldn’t tell us how he did it though. He just assured us there was nothing “magical” going on.
[/size]Nope, didn’t work…I have tried it in the past a few times, I just blamed my level of concentration/or non-concentration on my failure. I was hoping someone here would try it, though, there seems to be a huge level of scepticism/suspicion within this community.
Makes me wonder why so many of you only limit your beliefs to control your environment only to the dream world.
