The anticipation kills it...

I started studying Lucid Dreaming about three weeks ago and finally I had my first lucid dream two days ago! It only lasted for a minute but it was intense and very exciting… I’ve been using WBTB method and last night I tried the FILD technique. However, I have not had successful results with either. (My first lucid dream came naturally just sleeping and not thinking about it)

Anyways, when I use WBTB the moment I wake up I get excited knowing that I am trying to have a lucid dream. I get anxious about it working I guess. WBTB usually gives me very vivid dreams and great dream recall but no matter how vivid and strange they are I never remember to do a RC. With FILD (tried for the first time last night) the same thing happened… I woke up at 3:30am about four hours into sleeping and began the process… But the fact that I’m thinking abut lucid dreaming keeps me awake. I was starting to get that tingly vibration/falling sensation when I start a dream and I told myself to do an RC… but that act woke me up immediately.

I have also tried the LD mp3 inducer on youtube which helped me relax but I could not fall asleep because of the noise. Am I expecting results too early or can I do anything to improve?

Thanks!

hi,
And congratulation!

To help you, i would say : Just continue, you are doing fine. May be do shorter WBTB in order to be more sleepy.
Remembering to do RC’s can take some time, it has to sink down your mind.
And be happy that you got your first LD in such short time.
