The best thing for a beginner?

I had my first lucid dreams (I had two in a row) two nights ago. I wasn’t able to concentrate in them, and I think that it was mainly because what I wanted to do was too complex. What’s a good thing to start with that will keep me occupied, that’s somewhat entertaining, and that is easy to do. I tried flying, but it didn’t keep me concentrated. I may have just been too excited though. However, I think that flying is a little boring; there’s not much to see.
Thanks.

Well, flying isn’t about the sight, it’s the experience. On topic, try making stuff, asking DC’s about yourself, shouting things to make things (e.g. “Increase Lucidy!”), or simply staying still and seeing what your subconsience can conjure up. Yell entertain me in lucid dreams and see what happens.

With my perverted mind, “entertain me” could bring along some interesting results…
And I love your signature.

In my short instance of lucidity last Monday, I tried interacting with objects in the dreamscenario.

I happened to be in a bathroom when I though “wait! I’m dreaming!”, so I walked to the mirror and tried to go through it with my hand (I was doing this also as a RC). The problem was, it failed, and I instantly woke up. But it was very interesting watching the actual content of the mirror, all foggy and mysterious, not like the ones we have around in WL

Don’t start with something too pretentious. Take your time to simply explore.

If you have a perverted mind, you’ll just enjoy it more. Thanks for the compliment on my sig. Other things to do in a lucid dream: Swimming is fun, because you can always breath underwater (I’ve done this in ND before) or something unusual, like using a mirror to travel between dimensions. The sky isn’t even the limit, nor is the edges of the universe.

Thanks. I really liked the feeling in my first LD when I plugged my nose but could still breathe through it. I think that I would probably enjoy being able to breathe underwater too. I’ll try FILD tonight, because I’ve had some success with it in the past.

You can make just about anything you do interesting in more than a way, just think up of something on the spot, and you’ll be good
Besides, you can always rely on the all-time classics of flying, exploring, having interesting conversations with DC’s, enjoying the experience of the senses… there’s almost too much good stuff to choose from  and it’s all very simple (also because thinking it’s easy helps it being so, but still).
