Not sure if anyone here likes them… Someone’s bound to. But anyways, if anyone lives around the DC area The Doors are in fact going to be at the 9:30 club on August 9th. Tickets are $55. Anyone going?
I’m new by the way. xD

But wait…didn’t their lead singer die, like 35 years ago? I wasn’t aware they got a replacement… man I’m slow…
Yeah, he did. And with him went the band’s creativity.
Yeah, though so. It’s a shame, too. From what I’ve been told, the guy was a genius. Was it drugs that killed him? 'Cos that’s what I’ve heard.
Yes, drugs killed him. His music was obviously influenced by drugs. Every song on their first album had subtle references to drugs (except for The End which is a retelling of the Sophocles classic).
Yeah. I’ve seen him performing on old live things on TV, he alwas looked totally fried. Why is it that all (well, most) musicians feel the need to smoke pot and do other stupid stuff? It doesn’t make sense to me.
Drugs alters you mind and can bring people to very enlightening experiences depending on what kind. Smoking mere pot didn’t kill him, it hasn’t killed anyone really. It was more how into cocaine and heroine he was in at that time. But the band wasn’t just all about Jim… I don’t think anything happened to their creativity. He was the poet, they were the musicians. Anyone heard American Prayer? It was done without Jim, they just took poetry out of the poetry album he was making.
