The Eckankar

I don’t know much about it or them, but I was in a spiritual bookstore/hypnotherapy and drum circle place… and anyway, I was looking for a book on Tibetan Dream Yoga, but couldn’t find anything. When I mentioned this another employee at the store said there was a used book for a dollar I could buy written by a member of the Eckankar. I asked him what the eckankar was and he gave me an address of where the people meet… but anyway… I guess it is a sort of religious group based around dreaming, and exploring dreams for spiritual development and answers… its funny that if i really look, things i wouldn’t have thought were normally there seem to just appear like, “how did i not know about this???”

if anybody is familiar with this group/organization/religion or whatever it is, please give me some input

second time in a few weeks eckankar comes across me. I know someone who has been a member there for several years. They have a website, have you found it yet? There is also something there on wikipedia. Apparently a lot of their ‘followers’ are drawn because they have met a teacher in their dreams first, who drew them to them.

sounds interesting ! am gonna check them out too! thank you for posting
It is a weird coincidence how This word sounds like the 1st word of the Sikh Religion Holy text! Ek Onkaar-- it is very very cool ! i wonder if they took it from that word or it is just a mere coincidence :eh: but anyhow-- I think this world is more connected and will come together soon :content:

Interesting indeed…
Mabye it’s the “astral hippies” everybody seems to be tlking about.
