The Path to SP

Okay, I’m not doing the typical thing and asking for instructions. I noticed that although I have never reached SP, my body goes through different stages. I noticed a lot of people mentioning their body going numb, but this isn’t a helpful landmark because I observed that my body goes through several stages of numbness and I suspect there are more as I have not yet reached SP.

For me there is first a general numbness kind of like a limb that has fallen asleep, then after a while it gets stronger, there are also random ictches or stinging on my neck and face throughout. But then there is cool tingling sensation…I think followed by what feels a firm grip that encases my arms like padding. I can never get it to encase my whole body but I’m sure I will. That’s as far as I’ve gotten. I’m sure that not everytime is the same either, but usually similar.

Can anyone explain the sensations in their body as they go into SP, I’m curious to hear how you would describe it.

It isn’t a slow, gradual process. There are no landmarks or signposts. It’s just one moment I’m sleeping, or awake and lying still but can move anywhen I wanted… next moment, bam! SP. No warning, no temperature or other change in the air, no falling sensation even… I can’t even recall “numbness” as a part of it. My body can feel, all right, completely normally, no coldness or tingles-- it just stopped taking orders from me.

See? that’s so funny how the experience differs soo much from person to person.

I don’t know if I should post a new topic or just pot here, but I’ll post here anyway
After trying MILD+WBTB for a long time, with little results, I thought I’d try WILD.

Beforehand, I was put off the idea of SP, I thought it was a little too scarey for me, but hey, I thought, it’s all just going on in my mind, what’s there to be scared of?

I’ve been trying WILD in conjunction with WBTB for a few days now. But I can’t even get to the stage of SP. I would set my alarm to go off after about 5 hours of sleep. Change positions, and stay still. But nothing happens. I try to keep myself from drifting to sleep by repeating ‘1 I’m dreaming 2 I’m dreaming’ etc… or a mantra such as ‘I will realize I am dreaming’, but I either stay still for 5-10 mins with nothing happening or I eventually give up and just fall asleep.

My legs feel slightly numb an all, but that’s as far as it gets. Am I doing something wrong? Or does SP kick in later than usual for me? Thanks!
(Sorry if this looks like a wall of text)

Shiney, I have basically the same problem, How do you know how long it’s been? I would set aside a day for attempting WILD and try for 30-60 min. When I’m counting, I usually stop at 1,000 and hope each day I will become better and better. Right now I can get vibrations but no SP and ho HI.

Usually I look at my clock when waking up then look at it again when I stop trying to WILD.
I haven’t really experienced any vibrations, just slight HI and numbness in my legs.

I guess I could have a day or two were I try it for longer seeing as you’re beginning to improve
