The Real Structure of Dreams

I’ve made a discovery in a dream of mine, check the DJ quote:

May 24 about M - Fragment - The Real Structure of Dreams
I was at driving school, watching a really boring video, plus I was kinda tired (as I have been all this week. Having a cold + sleeping -2 hours every day = baaaaaaad). So I started to daydream, until I started to think about LDs, and eventually drifted to Shared Dreams. I was thinking that, when I manage to LD, that I’d look for my brother and try to get him lucid too.

I kept thinking about it and the situations, and fell asleep for a moment. [ND] But I kept thinking about it. I was seeing a black background with a red neon-glow circle in the center. There were two red dots on the right side of it, which were me and my brother, apparently. I kept thinking about it:

“So when I dream I’m in Red*. Hmmm, but he[my brother] won’t be able to get there if it’s too crowded**… Oh, but Red is in the center, so it’s okay…No, wait, Red’s not in the center!”

[com]*Note: I meant “in red” as in a location, and I never mentioned a name for it other than “Red” (“Vermelho”, in portuguese). I’m using circle in the description based on what it looked like.

As I said Red wasn’t in the center, I saw the circle move up and other colored circles appeared. I understood everything that was there. There was also something about changing circles, which was ilustrated by curve lines linking them.[/ND]

I woke up shortly after. That lasted only a few seconds, but I still remembered a lot of the logic of all that. Some of which, while not said, was “remembered” in the dream.

According to this dream, some sort of dream world or dimension exists, and it’s formed by circles, which are all the same size but vary in color. I’m using the word circle here loosely, as it’s just an easier way to refere to them.

I’m a native of Red, and apparently those who aren’t natives of a specific circle (like my brother) have trouble travelling to it, as it depends on how many people are at the specific circle in that moment. However, it is possible to travel from a circle to another. Also, while this may have been merely illustrative, the routes from a circle to another are also curves.

Also, the circles are arranged on a specific order, being Red on the top “line”, and no circle to it’s left. In some way, travelling between circles has something to do with Shared Dreams. I believe that a person must be in the same circle as the other in order to have a shared dream with that person.

I don’t know if this is correct, but I seriously think there may be some possibility of it actually meaning something.

What do you think? Could this really be the real structure?

This is a curious theory. I wouldn’t attach it too much importance in a first time as we can have very strange thoughts in dreams. Moreover, those neon-glow colored circles make me think about phosphenes and hypnagogics. So I would consider all this as “dream logic” and not as a metaphysical revelation.

Now it’s possible in dreams to have feelings on how the world/brain works. I remember a ND in which Einstein himself explained me how there were tiny dimensions that couldn’t be experienced in normal conditions. I found this idea of “tiny dimensions” absolutely stupid until I discovered that they were taken in account in modern physics.

Moreover, those neon-glow colored circles make me think about phosphenes and hypnagogics. So I would consider all this as “dream logic” and not as a metaphysical revelation.

The thing is, phosphenes for me are never ever clear. I don’t get stuff like perfect round shapes. I mean, I’m not even certain any of that is right, but it was impressive

Also, as you mentioned the dimensions thing, mine may also be right about something in some point.

If you consider it, there would be a good explanation on why shared dreams don’t work for everyone.

hehe this reminded me of a quote from Waking Life…“I’m not saying you don’t know what your talking about, but I don’t know what your talking about.”

I have heard from someone else on the forum that some buddhist reach enlightenment so great that it can’t be communicated. Maybe you ran across something and had somewhere to express it. But I don’t know.
