It’s explained in the “Treatise on Astral Projection” by Robert Bruce. Just google rope astral bruce and you’ll find it. 
Oh, I’ve tried this so many times and failed. I think I’ll try it again, though, now that you brought it back to my attention.
Not to say I didn’t get results, I just couldn’t get out of my body. I got as far as the vibes, then nothing.
