The Subconscience Estimate

Wouldn’t the topic title make for a great band name?

Before last night, I thought that the subconscience had a “fill-in-the-blank” ability. This ability would allow your mind to just make assumptions about people, places, things and ideas you have never experienced in real life. Here’s some examples of things your mind might make up in a dream (LD or ND):

  • The voice of a person you’ve seen but haven’t spoken to.
  • The contents of the store nearby that you’ve never been in.
  • The smell of the scented candle you’ve never lit.
  • The emotion you get when somebody dies that is still alive.

Last night, my theory about that completely changed… My friend burned a CD for me, and on one of the tracks, the CD skips on one of the lyrics, which makes it sound like the artist is saying “vuh,” even thought that isn’t a word. In my ND last night, I heard the song. And lo and behold, I distinctly heard the infamous “vuh.” I would have expected my subconscience to just guess what the actual word was, but my subconscience was just as clueless to that particular lyric as my conscience was.

I guess I don’t really have a question, but I would just like to hear any of the 3 E’s: Elaborations, Experiences, or Explanations. Is it 50/50 when your subconscience guesses at something? Or does your subconscience’s knowledge as limited as your conscience’s knowledge is?

Oh, and incase anybody is curious, I did a little search to find out the correct lyrics. The artist is actually saying “love, huh?”

Well, I often play the most amazing music when Idream… Like literaly hypnotizing music that is lost the minute I wake up. If my mind can do that then I’m sure it could fill up any blank…

Thing is, it can also -not- do it like in your case but I think it would be a coincidense.

The problem is that you expected “vuh” more than anything else, so that’s what your brain provided. If you had, say, looked up the lyrics online in your dream, it probably would have worked better, as online lyrics generally don’t have things like “vuh” in them.

And optimism always helps more than it hurts. Being pessimistic in your dreams is just limiting your abilities to the level you think they’re limited to, while being fully optimistic lets you do anything at all.

If all else fails, try thinking to yourself: “why does he say ‘vuh’ in that song? He’s supposed to say something else.”

Well sometimes the subconscious wants you to dream as real as possible…like it wants to replicate reality as well as it can, which might explain the “vuh.” It just wanted you to think you were actually hearing the song not dreaming. But like I said that might only happen sometimes…

Out of curiosity what was the song and the artist?

Yeah , you cant blame your subconcious for playing back what really happened to emulate reality. If it played the actual lyrics, it may not be doing its job poperly…

Why You Wanna by T.I. It’s a Rap/Hip-hop song, so don’t expect PG lyrics. Just a precaution, incase there’s younger members.
