The topic of nice towns

So this is the topic of nice towns. What, you ask? Well, let me explain.

In summer I visited a town called Turku in my home country (Finland). I hadn’t been there since childhood and it was very nice being there with my friends. The town is one of the biggest places in Finland with about 100 000 inhabitants (so it’s not very big for some other countries’ standards) but it was very comfortable there. It’s the oldest town in Finland (founded in the 14th century, I think) so there’s quite a lot of history there, and there’s a river that flows into the sea through the town and it was really nice spending time on the banks of it. The town was originally built between seven hills that flank the river, and today the hills are nice, wooded parks. The people were nice and the culture was just a bit different from what I’ve used to, so it was exciting, too. Also, there were a lot of good kebab/pizza places where I ate excellent falafel meals.

In conclusion, I lost my heart for Turku. So, have you discovered in your home country, or abroad, a town that you’ve fallen in love with? Please, share your finds (you can keep the greatest treasures for yourself so the masses of LDers won’t flood the place)!

That sounds really cool, I might have to go visit one day.

About 40 mintues drive from where I live theres a place called Glenorchy. Its a very small town, there couldn’t be more than 1000 people that live there. I’m sure alot of you have seen the Lord of the Rings movies, well alot of it was filmed around this area, so you can get an idea of what the scenery is like. Its just beautiful, and with so few people around its so nice and peacefull too. I’d love to live there but it’d be a bit far to drive to work everyday.
