The unpatriotic patriot act.

I can not believe this. Some guy who was playing around with a laser to entertain his daughter unknowingly hit the cockpit of a chimerical plane. This guy had no ties to terror and did not even intend to do anything wrong. Yet he is being charged under the patriot act and could face up to 25 years in prison. Now the guy did lie at first and blamed the hole thing on his daughter (which is cowardly to say the least) but, it is not worthy of 25 years!! This is completely insane.

sigh…No offense to anyone, but right no the US is far more screwed up than the rest of the world is usually.

Indeed it is.

So for the lasers, they got him, at last we found connection to Al qaeda and Bin Laden, Laser yes yes if you change the D into S and N into R here is the answer.
They got to prove how they spent these couple of 100000000000 $$$ on something.
How this goes into patrioc act?

somehow he was charged “under the patriot act” … which is suppose to be used to find terrorist.

The ironic thing about the patriot act is that since it’s enactment no one arrests under this act were terror related charges. When the act was passed we were promised that the law would not be used in this manner. I think we can safely say that promise was broken.

I just hope congress will do their job and protect our freedom by letting the act expire. If we give in to the fear of terror and sacrifice the very freedoms that make this country so great then, the terrorist win.

^^ Ahaha, a snowball’s chance in hell on that one.

My friend I were talking about it last night. Many people think that just because the Patriot Act is lying a bit dormant means it’s not something to be concerned about. It’s not like all Bills and Laws that are passed go into effect immediately or even within a year, some lie dormant for up to 5 years, maybe longer. The Bush Administration rushed the law in, that was the main goal (anxthrax attacks?). We’ve yet to see the full implications of this law IMO

I agree with you there. The law was rushed passage. Our elect officials did not even read the bill before they passed it!

I am terrified as to what is going to happen with this law in the future.

My state is already considering a state version of the patriot act.

The land of the free is quickly becoming the land of the paranoid.

Green Day - American Idiot

Don’t want to be an American idiot.
Don’t want a nation under the new mania.
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind-f**k America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the idiot nation.
Everything isn’t meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We’re not the ones who’re meant to follow.
For that’s enough to argue.

Well maybe I’m the faggot America.
I’m not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along in the age of paranoia.

The irony of that song is that Greenday are american and they are idiots. That’s not to say I don’t like 'em (I do), but still .

i am kind of annoyed with the stupidity and fat people in the united states also the fact that we have bush as our president.Well off tto go do summtin

shinta, ur typing style is cool.

anyway, i think the patriot act also allows searching without a warrant, if they think the guy’s a terroroist, or somthin…

I hope you can safely say so… without getting arrested :bored:

To be honest, I am not so sure I can. :uh:

What is scary, none of the arrests made under the patriot act so far were terror related. From what I understand they were either drug charges or political corruption charges. I am sure, sooner or later, they will use the act to infringe on free speech.

As it stands now you have to worry about donating to charities and not for profit organizations. Innocently donate to the wrong agency and you might just get a knock on you door. :eh:
