I’m new at this and I have noticed how hard it is to remember my “quest for lucidity” during the day. There’s other things going that I focus on and I always forget to do my RC’s. So I’m planning these signs to make me remember like t-shirts and wristbands, pictures, screensavers etc.
can you make suggestions? What kind of “rememberingsigns” do you use? I’d appreciate any Ideas!
You have to be original everyday. One day you put a post it on the wall, the next you conceal a “do a RC now!” message in your break’s snack, so on.
Try to think of methods that will make you think, or else, you will just look at the RC message and it won’t click into your head, so you won’t do any RCs.
Im trying lucid living, ie. being more aware of my surroundings… I guess as long as I do this, forgetting about LDs and RCs is not that bad.
Have you tried lucid living, ornim?
I think that it’s all about the motivation to really focus on these things. It’s easy in the beginning but as everything else in life, it too easily becomes automatic (unaware) and that’s not being awake of course. the reason I decided to really start practising LD’s was, at first, the fun and exitement but at the deeper level to break this wall of lazyness surrounding me. Maybe practising lucid dreaming is really about knowing how to live lucidly and vice versa.
and about the sex of course
this “lucid living” sounds good to me. I think it propably takes care of everything else. I really like the Idea of supprising yourself too! I’m suddenly thinking of the pink panther movies and scenes with clusoe and kato chasing one another…
You could also write something on your hand… I usually write RC close to my watch, so that everytime I look at my watch I see the RC and do it.
I also pay attention to details a LOT more nowdays, like everytime something unusual happens I automatically do a RC. Or if I think I saw something that wasn’t supposed to be there, like once my cordless phone was missing and I couldn’t find it, and then when I came back to my room it was right there! I did a RC and it came out negative, and then my brother told me that he had put my phone back while I was looking for it lol.
I also have a list of things I want to do when I’m lucid on the last page in my notebook… so sometimes in class I remember that and go look at it, that always causes me to do more RCs than usual just because I’m thinking of all the great things I want to do in my LDs!
Lucid living is probably the best method. It helps you to not take reality for granted. It should very well transfer to your dreams if you are constantly in that mental state
