So now I’ve been trying for THREE YEARS to have lucid dreams, and for what? Been lucid three times, and never had any powers except for being able to jump rather high. Looks like I’m nothing even when I’m lucid.
It took about 10 LD’s to get some powers for me and I still have very few LD’s where I get real powers. So have patience and some LD’s and your powers will come
I find that if I’m having a dry spell, it’s only elongated by my frustration that I’m having a dry spell, also I find that stress stops me LDing!!!
You saying ‘only powers’, is irrelavent, you have as many powers as you want, you just need to practice whilst in your dreams. I once spent an entire lucid dream practicing flying, another practicing stabalising so my LD’s would last longer…
And why do you need to have powers anyway? One of the things I love most about LDing is the fact you can FEEL things… you can eat, you can drink! Even doing normal things is more fun, but you’ve got to learn to relax, be patient and not get frustrated…
It’ll come, it just takes longer for some people… Good luck!!!
Agreed. But that’s not what I’d call “one of the best experiences in my life” as Leberge said some people called their lucid dreams.
And yeah, I do practise all the time in my dreams, trying to fly. I’d planned to fly by jumping off somewhere, but I’m always on the ground when I’m lucid. I’ve had the hint of using a mirror.
Well, dont take too serious with your LD’s. If you feel too annoyed trying to get powers, take a break for a few days and do it again. Frustration and LD’s are not the best combo, you need to be calm if you want to succeed. Think about it
I initially had a lot of trouble with, particularly flying, in my early Lucid dreams. I didn’t get lucid a lot so it was difficult to just ‘practice’ as people were suggesting. I tried a technique that I believe helped, I can only guess at it’s effectiveness though.
What I did was to think, whilst awake, about what it would mean to be lucid. I spent time contemplating how I could fly without inhibition. Trying to basically understand any doubts I might have, and release them. I did this for a few days over the course of a week. It might have been coincidence, but in my LDs after this I had no trouble with flying, even flying into space in one.
I used a similar technique, running through what I wanted to do in my dream and it worked quite well. I remembered my intentions in a relatively low-level dream. I’ve since made my primary task to stabilize the dream, before going onto other things; wish I’d done that first time around.
