So I was sitting with my friend in front of my computer watching FF7 Advent Children, and when some flashy scenes happened in the movie, the left side of my face started to go numb. It felt like there was something crawling underneath it. That’s not even the worst of it though, cuz my neck started to twitch and go numb, and then eventually it was in my whole body, this buzzing crawly feeling. Every once in a while there were little sharp pains all over me, and the whole time for about two hours, I felt like I was being electrocuted by a low-voltage current, like when you accidentally touch the prongs on an electrical cord while plugging it in. The reason I’m posting this on here is because, the next day when I woke up, I had this horrible lockjaw on my right side, which I associate with a reaction the electricity resulting in tensing. So I was sitting there at the computer, and I started to feel like I was going into it again, only it was more along the lines of my ‘soul’ feeling like it was being torn from my nerves, like where I thought my arms were were being backed up while my physical arms were staying put. I felt like I was being ripped from my body, and had to actively push myself back into it. I didn’t know if I was doing some unwanted astral traveling or if I was actually going to die if I let myself, but either way I’m scared. I’ve gone to my doctor about it and he doesn’t know anything. Then again, that asshole quack has never once told me I don’t already know. The closest thing he did to help was prescribe me muscle relaxants for my jaw, which by the way weren’t even covered by my insurance, so I didn’t get them. If anyone has experienced something similar to this, I would appreciate a response. Hell, maybe my monitor is just taking a shit and giving me radiation poisoning.
It isn’t some kind of epilepsy? My sister get sore muscles and cramps after she has had a seizure, and flashy scenes can trigger epileptic seizures. Did you tell the doctor how it started?
it sounds like epilepsy to me too.
Yeah, I would take a guess that you had like a half-seizure and managed to keep yourself concsious. I agree, it was probably the flashy images, like the one pokemon episode that aired in Japan that caused a bunch of kids to have seizures.
Yes, I immediately thought of epilepsy as well. It’s well known that watching TV (or computers) can bring on seizures. It sounds like a good sign that you were able to control it for so long, but I’d still get it checked out by a someone, all the same. If your current doctor is as bad as you say, see if he can refer you to a specialist dealing with epilepsy and related conditions.
