Three Questions

Hello, all. First, let me just say it is truly interesting to find out just four days ago that I could lucid dream. I’ve tried a few techniques, and I have three questions.

  1. How many dreams should I have written in my dream journal before I can actually try to induce one? I only have 4 written in it.

  2. I think I’ve enter sleep paralysis. Am I supposed to be totally frozen, or am I supposed to be able to move my fingers just a tiny bit? I’m confused on this, not knowing whether or not it’s actually sleep paralysis. What technique is best to get in to SP quickly?

  3. If question two is a yes, how do I separate my dream body from my regular body? I’ve tried imagining, but no luck. I’ve even tried to literally get my dream body up, but I end up get my real one up. Is there any other way that I can get my dream body up?

First, welcome LDFinder. :welcome: I didn’t really get you, have you had a lucid dream before or did you just find out you could have one?

1: There’s not even a need for a DJ, but it will help you to identify reoccuring DS and to improve your recall. You can induce LD’s whenever you want.

2: SP is tricky, and not many has it as a goal to enter. As far as I know, SP usually happens after an LD, when you wake up (not?). In a real SP you are completely paralysed (Except for your eyes). :scared:

3:
You’re thinking of OBE right? :handshake: There are techniques for that too, just use the search funktion

1- There’s no rule, really  The reason for keeping a DJ (besides fun memories and such), is to improve your recall and make you more aware about your dreams… I don’t think there would be a problem for you to try now, but my advice is for you to keep writing until you recall dreams daily, and with a good level of details.

2- While I’m not really familiar with WILD, since it never really works for me, I may not be the best one to answer… but anyway, here’s some knowledge: When you successfully WILD, you’ll be on the verge of falling asleep, but still conscious. Around this part, you may or may not get sleep paralysis, it pretty much depends on the person. If you get SP, then you won’t be able to move your body at all. Most of the times, you may get a strange feeling on your body, which most WILDers (including me, in a few previous tries) get. Your body will feel heavier and such, but if you can still move freely, then it’s not SP.

We usually get that “weird feeling” from not moving much . SP also comes with a strange mental feeling (at least on the few times I’ve had it, and according to other people). Since you’re almost dreaming/starting to dream, you tend to feel things differently. Some people have nightmares at this part, mostly related to the Old Hag stuff. But really, don’t bother, it’s hardly ever scary. Keep trying and you’ll eventually see the difference between SP and the “fake” one

3- That’s not LDing, but an OBE  At least how most people consider, though. If you consider the theory that we actually leave our body when we dream, that’s a whole different topic. Anyway, for both LDs and OBEs, the trick is that you’ll simply know. Things won’t feel as “real” as they should. Also, don’t get too worked out, don’t try to hard or you’ll end up staying awake too long, instead of LDing/OBEing.

I hope this helps
