I don’t have any sleeping problems, but I usually fall asleep pretty slowly. That’s why i can’t even imagine trying WILD. So, my question is simple: is it possible to learn falling asleep faster? how?
If your intention is just for WILD … I would suggest doing it after waking up for a very short period in the night.
Otherwise the best way to fall asleep fast is to be very tired when you go to bed and also go through a simple relaxation exercise when you get into bed. (Tensing and then relaxing muscles - starting from your toes upto your head).
you can often work it out by counting to 10
BUT
during each count, you wait a long long time
so there is never a set tempo,
you say one,
and listen to your mind, and wait to say 2 until your thoughts have gone into a space of being very quiet,
so each count, there is a tremendous lapse of time between, and in the lapses, you are feeling the sensation of not thinking
then when you notice that you have touched silence, count the next one, or if you feel like your mind is in need of being silenced, but wont’ do it say TWO and then notice it has changed,
with the mind very very still there is perhaps a 40-75% chance of going into the sleep - trance state.
The only way I could think of to make yourself fall asleep faster is to fall asleep normally then wake yourself up in the middle of the night and try WILD or whatever technique you want to use from there. You could also try waking yourself up early then going to bed late when you are really tired.
Whenever I can’t sleep I use this method that I discovered by accident. I find something on TV (usually a movie that atleast has an hour left of it) and lay down in my bed. I leave the TV on in the background and try to focus on the audio while closing my eyes. After about 10 minutes I let myself lose focus of the audio. Usually the characters will start to say really random stuff as if I was in a dream and I will fall asleep soon after. Every time I do this the TV is off when I wake up. I think my body turns it off while I’m asleep or something.
