Tried some techniques for the first time last night.

Hey, Im new here and it’s good to see there is such a large community who also share this interest.
Anyway, last night after reading this techniques, I tried WILD and WBTB. With Wild i managed to paralyze my entire upper body minus the head, and I’m not to sure if my legs where out, Anyway I did not see anything and could not get to sleep. So I just went to sleep how I normally do… Facing left on my side, almost on my stomach, But I set my alarm to wake me up 5am. When I woke up from my dreamless slumber I then stayed up for about half an hour and went to sleep again… I had a dream but it was deferentially not lucid, and it is very vivid.

Can I have some improvement tips?

Welcome to LD4all.

It’s the first time you tried it.
You don’t just read about lucid dreaming and get an LD.

Getting a vivid dream is something too.
Just keep trying, you will get one eventually.

I got mine about a week after I heard about lucid dreaming.

Just keep trying, try out new techniques, and all that…
Don’t worry, everyone can do it.

By the way, many people have problems with WILD.It’s the most discussed method here.

Welcome!
Hraesvelg is right- it is very unlikely to get one your first time. Don’t be discouraged- it will happen if you keep trying.
Vivid dreams are a sign of getting closer to an LD.

How late did you go to sleep? WBTB wakeup times vary. I try to WBTB about 5 hours after I go to sleep.
