trouble concentrating/falling asleep

Hello everyone,

I wonder if anyone else here has had/has this same problem:

Typically when I get in bed at night it takes me about a full hour from the time when I lay down and try to sleep to the time when I actually fall asleep. This makes it very difficult for me to maintain concentration for WILD or just even to repeat things to myself such as “I want to remember the dreams I have tonight.” I’m a beginner at this art, so I was hoping that perhaps some of you may have advice which could help me.

Is there anything I might do that would help me fall asleep faster, or just quiet my mind so that stray thoughts do not interrupt my intentions for dreams or keep me awake to all hours of the night? Any advice would help. THANKS

-J.

a good way to clear your mind is to imagine your thoughts floating away on a cloud, or through water.
and if you just wanna go to sleep earlier then you can follow your thoughts deeply, like (dunno how to explaine really) when a thought pops into your head, think about it for a while. Then a new thought will pop in and think of that and after a short while you will be asleep, and your mind will turn those thoughts into dreams.
…if that made any sense to you?..

I used to have this problem too, you get much better at concentrating in this way the more you do it.

For the moment I suggest setting your alarm a few hours before you want to get up, then you should be able to fall asleep quicker. (WBTB)
