Trouble sleeping?? Try Sockhat brew!!

Ingredients:

2 Valerian Root tablets (inexpensive natural sleep supplement)
1 Glass of stove-heated milk

DIRECTIONS:

Take tablets with water and take warm milk with… a glass. Then run to bed before you lose consciousness.

I don’t fall asleep quickly for anything and this knocked me OUT last night.

I’ve been TOLD that microwaving the milk zaps it’s sedative properties. I can’t verify that, but I don’t risk it.

Is taking 2 tablets really safe? I wouldn’t know as I haven’t ever seen those tablets in the United Kingdom before.

it all depends on the dosage of the tablets, and the recommended amount. you can usually find it in most “health” stores, or stores that specialize in natural supplements.

but what does it do for recall?

Sometimes stuff that gets you to sleep can kill your recall, i know it can sometimes kill mine, and that would defeat the purpose of it, no?

though if it’s guerenteed not to harm recall (and not be TOO harmful to the body), i see some very good possibilities with it

2 tabs are the recommended dosage on the bottle. I filled a good four pages of my journal this morning so it must not have phased my recall.

I bought the Valerian Root at Walgreens for $4.99 on the discount rack.

ah-h-h-h

how interesting.

Valerian Root. 5 bucks. ok, got it.

thank you

now, let’s talk applications.

It knocks you out all well and good, correct?

3 applications i can think of

1: chug the stuff, go to sleep while doing MILD. will probably help.

2: chug the stuff, and put on headphones. Got an MP3 player? see if you can somehow set it to play one of those lucid dreaming Mp3s about an hour and a half after you turn it on. (if needed, just make a very long track that has an hour and a half of nothing. It would take a bit of doing, but might work)

3: WBTB, make the stuff, drink it, WILD.

not bad, eh? I’m sure there’s more.

Good for people who don’t fall asleep easily, i would assume. Since i’m one of them, i’ll give it a shot

May it be replaced with Valerian water? I haven’t seen tablets anywhere…
But for sure the oxygenated water therapy would be the cheapest

Has anybody else had positive results with this concoction of Sockhat’s?

I’m going to try to pick up some valerian root tablets tonight while I am out and about. If I have anything of note to share, I definitely will.

Still want to hear what other people have to say too.

I would opt out the milk. The protein in milk actually makes you more awake/alert.

Replace it with popcorn. The carbs will induce your body to create serotonin.

Popcorn? Seriously? I’ll try anything once, I guess.

I was out late last night and GNC was closed, so I searched around the vitamin section of Harris Teeter and couldn’t find any valerian root. Whenever I can get out again I’ll look.

im going to try this tonight hope it works

edit: well i tried it without the milk part and i couldnt really see a difference

And dissolve the popcorn in water ? or what did you mean LK ?
I might like to try it although i think it might be bad for DILD …
have you done it more than once sockhead ?

Well I found some valerian root the other day, and have been taking two tablets a night, and havent noticed any difference at all as far as dream vividness or dream recall goes. Honestly I can’t even tell if it helps me sleep better.
Going to try it with warm milk tonight.

You eat the popcorn!

Or I suppose you could try dissolving it in water. It may keep you up a little longer that way as you’d spend some time hugging the toilet.

tried it with milk didnt help at all

We’re sorry, no refunds.

 will sue you now
Ahem … how often have you tried this concoczion exactly ?
I really would like to know so I can be certain for it wasn’t placebo effect …
Thanks in advance

Three times. Admittedly, the effect wasn’t the SAME each time, but it was better than it would have been without it. I haven’t been relying on it much since I’m temporarily in another dream slump. I’ll do it again tonight.
