Underwater fun

I don’t know if this makes it a lucid dream or just a regular dream but does anyone else voyage underwater when the opportunity presents itself in a normal dream? For me when it does I go into the water then realise I can’t drown because its a dream and simply don’t run out of air and enjoy some undersea travels. Hmm hmm i suppose realising it’s a dream makes it partially lucid but it isn’t to the point where I really control the events or things apart from limitations (eg. air supply, jumping height, falling from great heights, endurance)

I’ve been underwater a few times in dreams, though not very often. Those weren’t lucid, though it sounds like yours was - if you realise it’s a dream, that means it’s lucid. Control issues are quite different, I think.

I don’t go in water iften… IRL or in dreams. It’s a common DS for me actually. Yes, I know how to swim, I just don’t like to. (everyone thinks I can’t swim just because I don’t like the water…)

Somehow, that you don’t go swimming and despise it, fits with your name: Lupes don’t swim either.

But yeah, underwater adventures unravels more things to do. One thing is exploring the great infinite Ocean, transform into udnerwater creatures (or just breathe underwater), and much much more.

Not only dream–swimming triggers LDs for me, it gives me the best flying dreams ever!

My first LD was an underwater dream. Since then, all dreams in which I see any kind of water(often) trigger LDs for me. I love breathing and exploring underwater. I can move like a dolphin in the water in my dreams, and with even greater speed. I grew up on the beach and spent more time in the water than out until I was 21, I guess that is why dream water triggers LD for me, because it is just different than the real stuff, which I know so well.

lol, i’ve been in the water once, but i could breathe, not lucid though
@wolf, wouldn’t you change your name to remus lupin?

I’ve been underwater a few times. Mostly above. There was once I was underwater in some sort of saloon town with Vin Diesel and I’m pretty sure, Mark Wahlberg (yummy).

I can’t recall if I’ve gone or been lucid underwater.

I Love when i get too go underwater in a dream…I dont hold my breath at all. I just breathe normally, but I dont drown.
But Ive often had a dream become a nightmare from my curiosity of the water. I sometimes go into very scary waters, that are infested with sea creatures that arent very friendly.

ive been underwater once too!.. IRL its called scuba diving

Underwater definately triggers a LD for me. Although I prefer flying…

lol…The other day i went swimming underwater and had swimming contests who could hold their breath for the longest… i won of course cos i could breathe…but no LD hmmm.

I love doing the underwater - above water tag race. It’s fun to feel the difference. With the wind and the sun and the water… And when you go above the water, you can use your weight to go deeper down, and then higher up and…

To summarise: fun.

But never been lucid because of it yet. ponders Man. ^_^; I just need to be more alert in general, I guess. snerks

I can only remember one time when I had an underwater dream, and I wasn’t even lucid. I was swimming in a pool somewhere, and I was a small fish, kind of like Nemo in Finding Nemo…yet somehow that seemed completely normal to me at the time and I never realized that it was a dream…

A had few underwater dreams. One in which everything was underwater–I liked my other one, though where I kinda, “fell” over the barrier reef and ended up in this aqua blue waterworld–it was sooo cool :content:

Once in a normal dream I was underwater, I couldn’t breathe IRL so I woke up gasping for airl.

Whoa…now that you mention that–I never really noticed breathing at all in my dreams…hmm–I should check that out next time I’m in a dream :uh:

I remember a dream in which I thought I was floating in the air. But then I realised I was floating in water. For a moment, I thought about panicking, because I was under water, but then I realised that I had been breathing perfectly fine before, so maybe it was a special kind of water?

I floated about for a bit, until I spotted a dark shape above me. I swam towards it, and although moving took effort I managed to get close enough to realise it was a ship.

It had a hole in the bottom, big enough for me to pull me through, so I did, and then I was inside the boat, lying there, exhausted when all of a sudden I notice something…

A tattoo is appearing on my arm. I try to sit up, but I´m too tired, so I just watch it appear as my skin dries.

This gives me a theory, and a gap later, I am drawing something on the ground. It´s a special kind of drawing, though, that is related to the tattoo on my arm. I suppose it was some kind of magic.

Anyway, I suddenly have a bucket, and throw it out onto the drawing I made into the floor of the boat.

The drawing is washed away. I sit down to wait for the floor to dry up to see if the drawing/spell/magic thing I did there will come back.

At this point, I figure the water is somehow responsible for me being so weak, as I feel much better now that I’m out of it. It was pretty rad, but I’m not sure I didn’t read it in a book somewhere before dreaming it…

I’ve never really gone underwater intentionally in dreams, except for once when I went under so a wave wouldn’t knock me down. I’ve noticed that I don’t need to breathe underwater in dreams, even if it seems like I should… I just sort of stay there wondering how long I can go without breathing. It always occurs to me that I might drown, but I’m never really afraid of drowning. I remember one dream where I sat down in a chair, which fell through the floor and into the ocean. I sank all the way down to the bottom before somebody pulled me back up, and I didn’t need to breathe the whole time.

I’ve had an HI about being underwater as a dolphin, that’s about it. I’ve never had any other underwater dreams that I remember. The HI only lasted about a second. I would like to try it in an LD sometime.
