Using the Alter-Ego to induce LD

Just a theory. Say you LD one night and decide to take on an alter-ego. Your alter-ego has a very important job (maybe one that I mentioned in my other post entitled “Have an alter-ego in your dreamworld?”). The next time you LD, you remember your alter-ego and the line of work you do. You then change back into your alter-ego and continue your line of work. As time goes on, you convince yourself that this alter-ego is important because people are counting on you to do your job. Given that you’ve psyched yourself into being responsible and continuing work, I’m thinking that this may cause your mind to induce LDing, simply because you’ve engraved into your subconscious that this work is something that needs to be done and it is part of who you are (creating false memories may also help). Once you’re LDing, you don’t even have to keep the alter-ego thing going and can change the entire dream around to your liking (or take on another alter-ego altogether)…this concept would simply work as a key to enter LDing. What do you think?

Hmm.

This is not really good for beginners seeing you must’ve had some LDs, but once you had some LDs, It’s fine.

Basically, the steps:

  1. Get an LD by any means and take on an alter-ego. Do stuff that is important for your DCs. Maybe also autosuggest saying “I must get an LD because I must continue the alter-ego’s job…”
    Repeat step 1 a lot
  2. Once it is engraved in your subconsious mind that you MUST continue the job or else shit’ll go wrong in your dreams, it’ll come automatically.
Of course, it would work even better combined with another technique…

Correct me if I’m wrong.

You’re absolutely right, although I’ve yet to have an LD. I’m just pocketing this technique for down the road…

Whoops, this was for in the OILD topic :X
