I’ve tried very hard recently to lucidly dream. I’ve always been trying to come up with something to do once I’ve achieved lucidity. I realized what my goal was when I bumped into this girl today at the Tutankhamen exhibit in the local arts museum. Okay. Goodness, this is kind of embarrassing. Well, she was breathtakingly beautiful, and I only studied her face for a few seconds (not wanting to seem weird) and then left. I know it seems really cheesy and corny, but I’ve forgotten what she looked like and I just want to see her face again. Maybe have a conversation. Problem is, I live out of town.
Anyway, I know that when your subconscious populates your dreamscapes, it uses the faces of people you may have seen only once in your entire life. I was wondering if, once lucidity has been achieved, one could use this subconscious database to conjure up a DC of someone you’ve only seen once, but may have consciously forgotten their physical appearance.
Say, using a vocal command, using the place I met her and the circumstances that were in place to summon her? Maybe just thinking it? I don’t know.
And so concludes my long-winded post asking the simple question.
Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to mention the fact that I used the search function, and I kind of found small discussions about Memory Access within other topics, but i’d like to go more in depth.
I guess you can do that but how accurate this could be if you saw her only for a few seconds I mean your SC could create completely different person and you wouldn’t even know if you forgot her face already…
I’ve never experimented with this kind of things even though it seems very interesting. This reminded me of a movie: Limitless. If you know the movie then you know about what I’m talking about if not then I suggest to see a movie[very good one]. So you can try but I would suggest to make another trip to museum and hope you see her again!
And there is nothing like missed opportunities, trust me! Good luck!
I’m not sure I’d be able to test this, being faceblind, by I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible. We take in a lot more than we realize.
I once had a dream where I studied a short play I had only read once in WL. To my surprise, I knew it all in the morning. Never had another experience like that, but it certainly opened my eyes to the capabilities of our subconscious/memory.
I like this kid, haha. the amount of information the SC collects vs your conscious is immense. Put aside you disbelief for a second, there have been scientific tests on everything/everyone being united and even thoughts are communicated thru space or whatever (quantum physics). in those few seconds of you studying a face, I would imagine with almost certainty, it was stored… especially if you really were lucid/focused during so.
