very interesting story...

when i discovered the world of lucid dreaming i quickly became obsessed with it and talked about it with everybody around me… one night in my dorm i was talking to a girl in the common room about lucid dreaming and explaining to her what it is… she was just an aquaintence, not a friend, but someone you say hi to as you pass them in the hall… she was amazed by what i was telling her, and we began to talk about the possibilities of a shared dream, or if the people you meet in your lucid dreams are actually real people… we decided to do a test to see if the lucid visitors are just imaginations, or real people, and if that person is actually there with you in the dream… so she told me that she had a wierd freckle somewhere on her back and she wanted me to find her in my lucid dream, and see where her freckle was… i have never seen her back, so i would have no idea where she has any freckles… so the next few nights i tried to lucid dream but i failed, until finally one night i found her in my lucid dream, took off her shirt and found a freckle dead center of her lower back… so when i woke up i went to her room excited to tell her that i found her freckle, but anticipating that the freckle i found was no-where near her real one… so i went up to her back, put my finger exactly in the spot that i saw it in the dream and poked… she lifted her shirt and my finger was directly on the freckle… we were both absolutely amazed… i asked her if she had any dreams of me finding her and she said no… i mean this could certainly be a coincidence, but it sure doesnt seem like that… my finger was literally directly over her freckle… i dont know what this would even mean if it isnt a coincidence, i have my own theories that maybe unconsiously i have seen her back before and way in the back of my head i have seen that freckle even though i would never remember it or even noticed that it was there… i dont know, but it is very interesting… i told a bunch of people about it so we decided to do another test… someone i know wrote a random number in a book and hid the book in his room at his fraternity house… the object is to see if i could lucid dream back to that room and find the number… ive tried very hard to do it but i havent been able to get back to that room yet in my dreams… anyways i just wanted to give my story to someone who might find this very interesting and might provide some feedback…

:welcome: to LD4all
what a great story! I myself have never experiened something like that, although I have read dreams from LD4all members where they dream of other members, never having seen them IRL, yet the way they look in the dream matches how they look IRL.

The fact that she doesn’t remember dreaming about you doesn’t mean it couldn’t be a shared dream, maybe she just didn’t remember.

Keep us updated on the number test!

numbers may not be very good at all.

consider that there is a stratification of planes based upon
reality - > communication - > thoughts

well, her freckle has a permanent focus and relevance to her reality, becuase it’s lodged on her body and won’t move.

but a number in a book, that is just an abstract thoughtform that the author didn’t give much attention to at all… compound this with the complexity of reading in lucid dreams, and you’re asking for a tricky experiment.

while it could be done, i think it would be a lot more challenging than perhaps, simply seeing what the book he hid it in is “about” or “called” or finding something out about his body or his personality or daily life that he thinks about a lot.

basically … if i think of a number right now and then never think of it again, think how hard it would be to go into my own brain and find it, when you are lucid?

but the freckle thing, well, that’s easy, because it never changes and has a more permanent focus in the astral planes, in addition to being in the etheric/physical plane.

numbers written on paper are technically in the physical, but they are astral creations (i.e. you create them with your mind and bring them into reality by writing them down) and hence they have less stability.

this is just theorizing so… i tried to do this with a friend online once, he would tape a card to his wall, and i tried to figure it out.

it didn’t work very well.
