Hey all. I recently bought Exploring the world of Lucid dreaming, and read 1/3 of the book today. I am currently working on dream recall, so I decided to follow the books advice and tell myself to wake up after each dream. I was surprised when i woke up after a short, vivid dream. The only problem is, I woke up after that dream 2 hours ago. I simply can’t get back to sleep. I have school in 5 hours. I am not very tired, I actually feel refreshed. Does this happen to anyone else? I think what caused this is the fact that I slept in until 12 yesterday, due to sickness and staying home (I have been sick, and I normally wake up at 5:30), So my sleep schedule is really messed up. Will I be able to sleep regularly in a day or two? Thanks.
Hey, Theirexile!
Yes, this is common when your sleep schedule is already a bit messed up. What you should do is the following: take some days to fix your sleep schedule, so don’t nap in the afternoon and go sleep in time.
When you feel your schedule is fixed, then start the dream recall exercises again.
Glad you could remember your dream very vividly, maybe you should consider starting a dream journal to keep you motivated and help you increase your recall even more.
Hope you feel better from the sickness!

You really should try that, it also helps you to recognize dream signs.
You could put a notebook beside your bed to write down a few keywords when you wake up and then think about the things you did in the dream while trying to sleep again. That way you schouldn’t have trouble falling asleep and still remember the dream to write it in down the dream journal.
Actually, i’ve had one since june and it is a great tool for dream recall. I recently read about Dream signs, and so far my biggest one is my mother acting strange.
