Waking up with Songs stuck on your head

Does anyone else gets this too? I wake up almost everyday with a song stuck to my head. Today’s was Michael Jackson’s They don’t care about us.

I woke up with UPTOWN GIRL in my head… ARGH ITS BACK! i dont like this song at all… its gone, but now i got dragosteia din tei in my head! NUUUUUUUU!!!

Yeah, it is definitely annoying…

I fall asleep with winamp, pandora or an online radio on quite often, and it is strange how songs that is played while I sleep can be stuck in the head the day after. Usually I can’t remember actually hearing the song.

The thing for me is that I DON’T go to bed thinking/listening to them, yet I get them in the morning.

In some cases it’s even been a long time since I last heard the song.

Yup. Definitely had that happen. It hasn’t really happened lately. Last I heard was some piano + orchestra piece from Mozart. I hadn’t heard it since I went to the San Fran Symphony (about 2 years ago, I believe), and it was playing in my head when I woke up.

Argh, this happens to me all the time! Sometimes I get it stuck in my head in the evening, and it’ll still be in my head in the morning! But yeah, sometimes it’s just in the morning… although I don’t think I dream of the songs, and I don’t have any radio on in my room. Hmm… wonder what it is.

I get this all the time! Sometimes the music plays through my dreams too… kinda like a sound track.

Ah, yes; that has also happened to me on one occasion. This was a dream from months ago that I remember adding to my DJ. It was a love story between a man and a woman, and the “soundtrack” was “She will be Loved,” by Maroon 5. This was just before waking up, so it was stuck in my head when I first awoke.

Oh, and the same also goes for fictional music. In fact, one song had stayed with me for at least an hour or two into the morning before it faded from my memory. Miraculously, I took a nap the following afternoon, and when I woke up from that, I remembered the song once again. It faded, and hasn’t returned since.

Very interesting. :hmmm:

All of that music doesn’t happen very often, though. Only on occasion.

Happened again with me today. It was “Entre tapas e beijos” a brazilian country song I don’t particulary like.

yea its annoying yet cool actually. that is, if its a good song lol and it doesnt get stuck in your head all day, just kinda stays in my head for about a hour or so. but yea, i get it all the time too

Yes indeed, it’s very common. I realized that most of the time, it was a song I’ve heard in my night last dream. And generally, if it’s a happy song, I’m happy in the morning but if it’s a sad song, I’m sad (for instance, Enya’s song “Only time”, I just heard it once, I remembered it in a dream, it was stuck in my head when I woke up and it destroyed an entire day  ).

I woke up with Cálice, by Chico Buarque, this time.

I listen to an average of about 10 songs on the bus a day. I woke up about 2 weeks ago with Cant Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (gotta love em) playing in my head.

Once i had a really strange dream, and at the end it was if i was in a flim or something, and it played the theme music, which i knew was Jesus of Suburbia (Green Day), but when i woke up, i realised that it wasnt that song, and that it was probably a really good melody that i’d invented in my deam. i was thinking about writing some music with that as the melody, when i realised that it was actually the theme music to Aladdin (Walt Disney) that i was listening to, a piece of music i havent heard for ages! lmao.

EDIT: the song actually had different lyrics, comprising solely of “You’ve broken every rule that’s ever been made” instead of “…I’m in a whole new world with you”. how random is that. It was completely irrelevent to the dream as well.

and how the hell do i confuse that, with green day???

I usually wake up with the Pokemon’ theme song.

I woke up one time with the theme of Super Mario Sunshine. Although I have no memory of a dream with it, it was still annoying though.

Heh, I just posted something in another topic about this. The music I hear tends to be randomly generated with no words, like something you might hear in a video game. I’ve never been motivated enough to write it down yet, though.

I get Daniel Powter- Bad Day in my head a lot when I wake up. I have no clue why, I don’t even listen to it really.

I had a series of the oddest dreams earlier today, and since then I’ve been listening to Beatles’ Strawberry Fields Forever pretty much non-stop.
