Was I lucid?

Hey,
Could it be I had my first sign of becomming Lucid? Last night I had a weird dream. My mother was absolutely teriffied that I would go out of the house, so she actually threatened to kill me if I would simply go to school… And at some time I was talking to my brother and I told him I was dreaming. And that made me really believe I was dreaming, which was of course. The rest of the dream I just went out of the house, while my mother was shadowing me all the time. She stood everywhere where I was.
Is this lucid or just a beginstate? I am wondering, I had actually just thought of giving up to become lucid.
Thanks anyways!

I would say you were nearly lucid at the very least! The fact that you noticed you were in a dream was good, even if you maybe didn’t fully understand it at the time. Being fully lucid means you would notice like you did but you would also then make the connection with the world around you. You are soooooo close so please don’t give it up!

In waking life I assume you sometimes do RC’s and check if you are dreaming or not. Sometimes ask yourself what you would do if you were dreaming as well. You need to learn the jump and what to do the moment after you realise it’s a dream. You need to take in the world around you and know it’s in your head!

Hope you have more near lucid experiences and a full lucid dream soon! GOOD LUCK!

Thanx! I am so happy about that, especially because I wanted to become lucid at some point these summer holidays. I just hadn’t started yet to try. Funny though. I also believe in the ‘everything is a dream’-thing, maybe that is a state of mind that helps you to become lucid? I never really had it before, that I thought this way. I guess it will be ok now  I can’t wait to go to bed tonight! That’s new to me too :content:
Thanks again!

last night I had another experience that I knew that I was dreaming… But… I didnt know how I had to turn it into a lucid dream. I just went on dreaming, but I had no control over it whatsoever… Could anyone help me with it?! Thanks anyways!
Ellen

If you know its a dream, you dont need to turn anything anymore, it already is a LD! The control question is a different issue, though. Lucid doesnt imply control. If you cannot control, dont worry, go with the flow of the LD, explore and see what happens. Try to keep remembering yourself that you are dreaming, else the LD might turn back into a ND. But, there’s so much you can do! And, once you get more LD’s control will also come automatically. So, good luck with it!

Thanks! I will see how I get on with it. Last noght it turned into a normal dream when I gave up getting it under control. So that is right. I was kindof bugged because I was lucid and didn’t really know what to do… But… I will just go with the flow, sounds nice:) Thanks!
Ellen

It happens quite often. You should plan IRL something to do when you’ll be in your next lucid dream.

Thanks, I will try it tonight! I have thought of a theme, it is supposed to work alright… Thanks anyways:)

Just before you go to sleep at night think about something you want to do in your lucid dream. Try to keep it some thing simple like, “Tonight when I become lucid I will fly in my dreams.”
Having a plan before hand can help a lot with dream control. Sometimes you might even find yourself doing what you planed in a ND (this is called dream incubation) and then become lucid as a result.

Hang in there because things will get better in time.
