Was this an LD or fake LD

I was in class at school and noticed the tutor was on the Internet on what I went on on my iPod. I then Pinched my nose and I could breathe through it. I then realized I was lucid and started moving my hands quickly. I talked to rebecca for something. I looked at my hands and snapped them. I looked at rebbeca and I snapped them, really concentrating and she dissapeared. I really wanted to fly. I jumped but could not fly. I looked at the window and I tried to transport myself to downstairs - outside. I closed my eyes and It made me wake up inside school.(no longer lucid) I had a cake in my pocket which I started eating and I got all the crumbs over the desk. Mrs dhannani was teaching in our tutors classroom. I quickly dropped the cake on the floor on my way out as I knew she would tell me off. As I walked down the stairs I heard her saying who’s is this cake, so I speeded up. As I walked down the stairs I saw Ashley and amandeep next to him. Ashley had one brown eye and one blue eye. I walked with amandeep outside and told him all about my lucid dream. He replied ‘…Your that excited about a lucid dream!?’, suprised that I was overreacting. Carl said something and the dream ended.

I have no idea why when I closed my eyes I woke up in a normal dream. I think it was a false lucid dream though I’m not sure because it did seem sorta real. Though I jumped in the air but could not fly leads me to believe I was not lucid. What do you think?

You were aware of the fact that it was a dream, therefor you were lucid. It may have been a low lucidity dream, but it was an LD nevertheless. A FLD is when you don’t realize that you’re dreaming, but you have the same abilities.

Not being able to fly doesn’t mean that you’re not lucid. Using your powers in dreams is surprisingly difficult because your mind cannot accept them. Flying is notoriously hard, and it takes a lot of practice. You might want to read the guide here on ld4all if you have not already. ld4all.com/guide.html

Closing your eyes and waking up in a normal dream is a False Awakening. This is very common after a lucid dream, especially if you are new to it. I’ve always seen it as your brain’s way of kicking you out of the dream.

Keep trying and you’ll start getting stronger in your LDs, and you’ll also find ways to avoid false awakenings. Good luck!
