Was this an LD?

Hey guys,
I’ve not posted for quite a while, but this was just weird.
So, I dreamt there was this machine-like thing that could make you dream lucid. Remember, this was an ND. So I went in the LD-machine, knowing that within seconds, I would dream lucid. (why the hell did I not do an RC then???)
It worked, and I had a weird, but awesome LD. Very vivid, I could make things appear and dissapear, I could shoot firebolts and met some DC’s.
But I still thought that I became Lucid though the LD-machine, I didn’t realise that that was a dream too.
So, was this an LD, or did I just think it was an LD?

not sure i can help never thought about anything like this really cool concept almost a paradox. how sure were you it was a dream and how aware were you?

In the lucid part, I never even questioned whether the previous moments were a dream. Even when I woke up in real life, I was puzzeled for a moment why I was lying in bed and not in the weird LD-machine.
When I was in the machine, I knew that the next moment I would be LD’ing. The ‘machine’ sent me to some weird landscape, where I did several reality checks. So at that moment I was sure I was dreaming and I had full control. I even did some things from my ‘to do’ list.

It sounds to me like this was a DILD you realised you were in a dream and your mind made you realise that by making a “machine” that explained it. i have had something like this before i was in a dream where i was at an award ceramony and when i was given my certificate it had “REM” written on it in blue huge letters. this triggered me to lucid dream.

It might be, although I had not the ‘WTF I’m dreaming’-click I normally have.

I hope the machine will appear more often xD

perhaps thats because you were subconciously aware it was a dream all along which is why you dreamt about the “machine” so it wasnt really a shock to you when you went lucid. or because you were eased into it you never got the shock of finding it out for yourself. anyhow i think just you knowing you were dreaming makes it lucid.

Hmmm… I’d definitely say it was an LD. Think of going into the machine as a transition from one dream into another. I’ve unknowingly done WILD attempts in an ND and had a very lucid dream. Regardless of how you got there, you knew you were dreaming and that is the important part.

Well, if while in the dream you knew that you were dreaming than yes, yes you wer having a LD. Congratulations! :lucid:
