Okay, so I’ve been listening to a soundtrack (LucidCurse), and usually when I listen to it I’m on my bed staring at the lightbulb (when it’s off, of course). As Iisten, everything else goes out of focus and is covered by yellowish fog, until all I can see if the lightbulb. Is this HI? And, does listening to hipnotic soundtracks actually help with LDing? So far, I’ve never had a lucid dream on the night or near the night I’ve listened to it.
when I was younger I used to stare at a lamp on my wall in my bedroom and everything around it would become dark, not sure if this is same thing you described but it’s not HI.
I don’t know if this works for other people but I can close my eyes and apply increasing pressure against my eyelids, if it works that will give you an idea what HI looks like…and you have to do it for a while to get actual images first you just see swirling patterns and blobs of color. Your vision may be blurry for a few seconds after. Has anyone else tried this?

That was not HI. I can do this by just focusing on anything and not blinking.
HI are vibrant colors (I hear lots of people mention blue), which will morph into a very realistic dream scape. People who practice WILD can control these HI to form the landscape they want to enter in their lucid dream. Just like Sleep Paralysis, when you experience HI, you will know for sure. Any doubt pretty much means it wasn’t HI.
Yeah, I know it isn’t HI, but it’s still different from what you’re saying. Because, even if I did blink, everything would still be faded out. Also, if I turn my head, my whole feild of vision is blurred out. 
ya that happens to me alot to. i see something and the scene looks darker until i get my eyes off of it. it is cool

Still seeing with your eyes closed seems more like a curse than an amazing ability
If i close my eyes and for a bit I just start to see pictures I don’t control them they just come up they just appear.
Yeah, that happens to me too.
