Way to convince a skeptic of Shared Dreams

I thought of a way you could “prove” that you had a shared dream to even the most skeptic doubters. Okay, what you would have to do is come up with a password that you would tell to your dream buddy, who would then confirm this upon awakening. Now I know this has been done before but in my version the skeptic comes up with the password and tells it to only one dreamer. Also, any quarantining measures to ensure no RL password exchanging happens could be applied.(depending on how complicated you want to get). So what do you think? Anyone willing to test this out?

I’d be willing to test this out, since I’m a skeptic myself. :content:

Actually I am too  But this would convince me if everything went according to plan.

Yeah, I think the only way to actually be convinced is experiencing it! Other people can only help by trying to make the skeptic more open minded and accept the possibility. There’s a fantastic SD journal at Dream Views! It won’t convince a skeptic, but will make her/him go

EDIT: oh! and good luck! I’ve been trying too, but LD’s have been rare…

Im gonna try this too, I just need to keep this in mind

I dont worry about convincing them anymore. Its there loss I enjoy LDing myself I do wish I had someone outside the forum to talk to about Lding. Lding changed my life, and thats all I need.

I’ve had this idea too but I’ve never actually tried it. I am interested in SD’ing though.

So, have you tried? Did it work?

a slightly better version of the experiment:

Everything is controlled. The rooms are identical and placed at opposite ends of a building. There are no windows, but the rooms are made with every comfort in mind, to conduct sleep appropriately. However, there will be no tv, internet, phone, any access to the outside world- when they commit to bedtime.

The subjects may know each other or not, it doesn’t matter. Both should be excellent LDers and able to achieve lucidity each night without fail. They should also be able to fall asleep very quickly.

Anyway, when they opt for bedtime, they will be locked in their rooms 1.5 hours before they are to fall asleep. At 1 hour, a neutral party that they have never met before will come in and give each their code word. Guards will be placed outside to make sure no one enters or leaves.

At approx. the same time, they should attempt to go to sleep.

If, in the morning, they can accurately give the other’s code word, i’ll be convinced.

gotta account for every variable

i was a non believer, wish i used a password

im not crazy
