this really weird thing happened while i was dreaming a few nights ago, i was in little new york in my basement (haha that is so weird.) and this dream character was trying to talk me into realizing i was dreaming. i didn’t belive him and totally blew him off but, isn’t that strange? any ideas on what might have happened?

you’ve had lucid dreams in the past (link) so it’s probably just your subconsious trying to remind you about lucidity 
It must be so annoying when you wake up and miss a clear dream sign like that 
Lol at the huge missed dream sign, I had one like that were i was trying to manipulate the dream world (teleporting, transforming ecc.) but I subconciously felt it was not a dream, and felt REALLY stupid when i woke up! 
Thats not strange thats great to have a DC helping you out. Most of the time they seem to try and convnce you its not a dream.
Just be sure to RC next time and see.
lol i knwo the feeling there how annoying is that! happened so many times. Just remember it and next time there is a good chance that you will go lucid from it
I know how frustrating it can be when you miss a dream sign. I had a dream that I thought was real life, but for some reason I was making things appear in the sky like it was normal. 
That’s my most commonly missed dream signs. 
It’s not strange to have that happen, and if you would have noticed you would have become lucid. I guess you could try not to assume too much about your surroundings. Next time you should remember.
