Weird feeling while meditating/relaxing?

I’ve been trying to meditate lately, because I really want to try the WILD method. The only problem is, whenever I start doing it, the tape I use always says to pretend your legs, arms, etc are getting heavier. Whenever I do this, I get this REALLY weird feeling in that certain body part (it’s normally my legs) and I just HAVE to move, which totally ruins it.

What can I do about this? I can’t really describe the feeling. It’s just a really weird feeling that makes me want to move my legs and such.

Thanks:)

I think I this somewhere (I’m paraphrasing):
Your mind and body have a hard time communicating, and since neither wants to be asleep while the other is awake (or vice versa), they send tests to eachother. So when you feel like you really need to move (usually crossing your legs, putting your hands on your stomach, or rolling over), it is usually a test from your body to see if your mind is asleep yet. Try to resist it as long as possible if you want your body to fall asleep. It’s like tricking it.
I hope this helped? It’s kind of confusing…

Sorry for the double post, but this doesn’t happen when I’m TRYING to WILD, only when I’m practicing while I’m sitting in a chair during the day or something.

I don’t know if the same thing happens though. Is this also a test when it happens during the day?

Thanks for the fast reply btw:) Sorry if you don’t understand this question. You could also PM me if you want instead.

Oh sorry, I meant the concept of the mind and body communicating is kind of confusing
Also, I’m not sure if the same thing happens during the day, but it should, because if you are relaxing, the body doesn’t want to end up being awake while the mind is asleep (just think what might happen if it is). So I think the same thing applies, it’s all normal, it’s just your body being safe

you don’t have to move, this is what makes it difficult. i feel like your naive, which is ok. your kind of approaching this way of lucidity as if searching for a lake while walking over a large sheet of ice. meditate more often, find peace of mind. if you feel like your body is pulling your leg for eg. this is probably good. don’t shake it off, think alternate thoughts. an idea just entered my mind, take it or leave it… when meditating stick one foot in either cold water, or warm/hot water, this should help you train your mind to regulate feelings your body sends to your brain. if your meditating effectively you should not even be aware of the left-right temp difference and even the rest of your body.

You cannot achieve lucidity forcefully, you can not force your mind to be active while your body is sleeping. To have a lucid dream it requires great concentration and practice. Try burning an Herbal Incense while meditating it will purify the air and help you to improve your concentration and focus.
