Hi all!
I’ve been practicing WILD a lot lately and I’ve had some success, but whenever I start entering SP my jaw starts to hurt a lot and that ruins the SP because my body wakes up due to the pain. I don’t know if the pain I’m experiencing is real, or I might be clenching my teeth while I sleep. I’m not sure what the problem is but its very disruptive in the whole process. This never used to happen to me.
You probably are clenching your teeth.
Once, I felt pain in my left forearm… I thought it might just be part of some HH, but when I gave up, my arm hurt so bad. I WAS tensed up in that area.
When you start WILD ing, just pay attention to muscles that start to tense up (especially in the head/face… I tend to forget those), and slowly relax them. I find eventually, that they stay relaxed on their own and I can concentrate on my own thoughts.
I hope that helps a bit.
This happened to me all the time a few years back, and I never really fixed it I just kind of accepted it as part of SP, and as long as I kept my mind off it it wouldn’t bother me. I know for a fact that I clench my teeth in my sleep though.
D:
It’s so awful for your jaw!
My sister had to get a night guard for a while because she clenched her teeth as she slept.
Yeah it is, I was gonna get a mouth guard and still should. I had an orthodontist take a look at my teeth and in the first five seconds he was like, “So you clench your jaw in your sleep eh?” Pretty bad
That’s odd, do oyu feel any pain during the day?
Not sure if you’re asking me or the OP, but for me, I don’t have pain during the day but I have a bit of an oral fixation I must admit. I chew gum a lot too.
And also I’m remembering more: it wasn’t necessarily a jaw pain I used to get, but a rapid clenching, almost like chattering as if I were cold, so loud I could hear it. Not necessarily painful, mind you. This would happen in SP and not in the LD.
