Two nights ago i had a strange experience that reminds me of something that happened over half a year ago. I was taking a 7.30pm nap just before i was going to go out to party. Thinking that this was a prime time to attain lucidity I focused on it as i lay in bed. In like 10 minutes i developed hypnotic imagery. It was very intense imagery. I was seeing an outline, with blue-ish hues, floating in a black void. My self was almost doing flips in what seemed to be other dimensions, but all i could see was a blue-ish outline of myself. This is hard to conceptualize for myself, so sorry if it doesnt make sense on type.
Anyway, i was aware and concious this whole time and began thinking of lucid dreaming. I was trying to enter a dream, but what was happening was me getting out of bed, but the whole time i was unsure if it was the dream, or real life. At one point i was trying to get out of bed and tried to pay attention to see if it was real or not, and I assumed that it was real life because i could feel my sheets being pulled off my bed. I get back into bed, and i noticed that my body is in some akward position, but i still can’t tell if it was real life or not. I didn’t want to walk out of the room because i was scared of sleep-walking and looking foolish in front of my house mates.
I went back to my nap after realizing that at one point i was actually standing aside my bed and NOT asleep like i ‘thought’ i was. It was a very intense experience similar to one that happened before. But that time i was able to get out of bed, walk out my door, run down the street and start flying…
How do i know if i am in the right state to get out of bed and have a real OBE (or OOB?)?
Last fun note, when i went back to my nap I could overhear the Whitesox/Astros game on TV. I began dreaming that i was in the game and involved in one hitting play where I was a pitcher pulling a bunt. and then a fielder making a play. It was so awesome because the whole thing was being commentated so it was like i was literally in the game.
First post in a long while, welcome back.
