Last night, I had my first LD. I was in Hyrule Field from Ocarina of Time and the pea hats looked different, more like poles than fat plants. I checked my hands and they were small. I knew I had just became lucid. I didn’t react at all. I kept going, until I said," Increase Resolution NOW!" while visualizing a slider for the resolution. But the dream apparently did it wrong. Instead, it made everything too bright. I had NO idea how to turn it down. I then screamed " Leave this dream now!" over and over until I left. Also, after I woke up from that, I was looking at an image, couldn’t feel my body except for a corner of my head, thought I was dreaming and screamed," increase lucidity now!" then a loud rumbling sound came and scared me. Can anyone explain the brightness thing and the image and the rumbling please? I would appreciate it! Thanks.
My explanation is this: Weird things can happen in dreams.
Sometimes if you’re afraid something bad will happen, or if you’re not confident in your ability to control the dream, things can come out in a way that you didn’t want. Or that can just happen randomly.
It also sounds like the second scene where you think you woke up was actually a false awakening (where you dream that you’ve woken up).
In any event, congratulations on your first LD!
No it was not a FA. I knew I was up. I was looking at a sleep border image. I was close to an astral projection. It was a rushing noise. I did have a false awakening the same night…
Sleep border image? Are you talking about HI? I guess that, after your LD, you were close to go to sleep again or still in this hypnagogic/half dreaming state. So you were not dreaming right there, but experienced HH, probabaly because you were pretty aware after this LD. So then the image you saw and the rumbling sound would have been HI and HS. However, there’s no need to be scared of those things.
I get it. But next time I see HI after waking up from a LD, I will be calm and wait until I’m sucked into the image, starting another dream. Thanks for explaining!
