--What are some helpful things to visualize when MILDing--

Besides walking down stairs and counting, what else should I picture myself doing while trying to relax into a dream?

Hi superunknown, welcome to the forum.

First of all I suspect you confused WILD with MILD. If you really mean MILD, it is generally advised (by Laberge, who kind of invented MILD) that you visualise any dream you just had, and picture yourself going lucid in that dream. If you mean WILD, I guess anything that suits you is ok (be creative ). By the way, counting isnt realy something you visualize, is it?

hey superunknown, I think we have a shared interest in music, haha (my Custom is your username) well anyway, when I wild I dont visualize anything, I just keep repeating to myself “I am going to have a lucid dream” to the rythm of my breath.

Welcome, superunknown! As I am new to MILD, is it necessary to visualize anything, or can you just repeat a phrase over and over again in your head?

EDIT:

Did you mean MILD?

You got it right. The best mantra for me so far has been repeating “What if this is a dream?” in my mind until i fall asleep. Works very well!

Of course this sentence might not make sense for you, because i repeat it in my language (i’m not English speaking person). The best is if you find great short sentence for yourself in your language what you repeat after WBTB UNTIL you fall asleep. If your thoughts start to wander before that, you might not have success.

I like to visulaize flying, or driving really fast, it helps with flying dreams allso.

My mantra is, “the next time I am dreaming, I will become aware that I am dreaming”, just like straight out of the books. Works enough for me that I can call it consistent.
