i cant get an LD. ive tried WILD, MILD, WBTB (i couldn’t get up everytime i tried it. i always sleep through my alarm when i try WBTB ), RC, dream journal, stopping for a while to see if it comes naturaly, still no LD!
is there anything left for me to try? ive even lost the ability to remember all my dreams every night, i only remembered one dream (barely) from the past week.
Don’t stress about it. The ammount of time it takes for different people to experience LDs varies a lot.
Choose a technique that you can carry out easily (read the choosing your technique topic in the LD4all library), and continue with it for a period of time before trying something new. swopping and changing techs too frequently doesn’t help.
if you cant remember your dreams how do you know you havent been lding? lol.
try sleeping on the floor or something a lot of times you get more lds when your uncomfortable has something to do with your mind being more awake, i had 5 lds in a night just because i was sleeping on an uncomfortable couch, my back didnt feel to good for a while but it worked
#1 Rule: Don’t get frustrated. Like Bruno said, it creates blocks in your mind. My friend has such a problem with LDing simply because he’s so anxious. =p
Also, you mentioned keeping a DJ. Are you still keeping it? Even little fragments should be recorded each day.
just the thought of getting a LD exites me, maybe thats why i cant get one… i switch between WILD and MILD alot, like every second day…
i have a DJ but it’s on my computer, so i think about writting what i remember in the morning but sometimes i just dont feel like turning on the computer and opening the file while looking at a bright screen. i guess a real DJ would be better…
the last time i had a long weekend i remembered 3-4 dreams per night for 4 nights, then during the week i remembered little to nothing from my dreams, and since i didnt have the time i coudln’t write the little i remembered.
The main thing is to stay positive. Practice on your dream call for abit. Once you have that back have another go with LDs. Heh you might have an LD when your not thinking about it as much.
Eh… I know what ya mean… I usually have those sorts of dreams in series, so I just write down a codeword and a number (I.E. Jen1) that way I remember the dream, and I also have a log. I’m investigating getting a locking DJ so that I can record those…
this was the key for me i think in becoming lucid. you have to question reality or you definatly wont question it in your dreams.
try and do as many as you possibly can. get used to do it once an hour if possible. during all kinds of situations. even if your at work all day with people around you a simple rc can just be checking your watch, looking away and then looking back, asking yourself in your head if you are dreaming, thinking in your head about what youve done all day to make sure your not dreaming.
those are a couple of inconspicious rcs that you can do if you dont have much privacy. try and do as many a day as you can.
Yeah, I found that doing lots of RC’s helped in getting lucidity - i’ve been quite lucky in that it didn’t take long for me. As well as doing them randomly, I am also trying to associate certain actions with doing a reality check, for example whenever I have a drink of water, see water etc, I always try and do a RC. Good luck in getting a LD, and don’t give up!
