dear board,
ever since i started practicing lucid dreaming, ( july 09)
it seems like my regular dreaming has changed in nature,
i used to have about one vivid, memorable dream a week and now i don’t -
now it’s true i don’t meditate as much
but other than that
i am wondering if the lucid dreaming is somehow interfering with the pattern i used to have?
plus i think i wake up early cuz i now do WBTB ?
i have some success with lucid dreaming just miss the old dreams
thanks
I’ve noticed that meditation before bed increases my dreams’ vividness (although, yeah, I usually don’t meditate… )
but I don’t think the lucid dreaming would change that, and if it is the case I’d say it’s a “fase”. Lucid dreaming should (in my opinion, at least) make the normal dreams more vivid, since you are working on “dream awareness”.
Try to meditate more and see if that helps. Otherwise I’m not sure how to get them back
Good luck!
Do you use lucid dreaming techniques that cuts down on your sleeping time? WBTB and WILD can sometimes take one or two hours of my sleep in a night. How much do you remember when you wake up for WBTB? I have noticed that setting the alarm 15-20 minutes later helps a lot with the recall if this happens, because it gives me time to complete the sleep cycle.
this is an excellent point, thanks, about not getting the quality of sleep when lucid dreaming
however i seem to sleep about two hours longer per night
and i seem to sleep through a lot of my WBTB’s and LDs anyway
so…
not sure
do people just take a night off here and there to balance things out?
