What in the living hell just happened!!!?? (read this!)

I had read a chapter of Mavromatis’s HYpnagogia…

I then went about inducing sleep/drowsiness, got real real deep into the hypnagogic state and came up with a state of supreme uncomfortable drowsiness likeable … uh… remniscent that’s the word, to anestehsia…

rolled over, and… this is where details are fuzzy, I was not… asleep… no, but the voluntary hypnagogics were somewhat strong while still retaining consciousness, and I was not intending to entirely be asleep…

I saw some gray stars or something flicker a lot… geometric stars… then… I was thinking, what did I want to do, afterall it’s only 12- early 1 something, if I get a traditional lucid dream I may have disruptive sleep.

so… I decided sleeping would be fine, I just wanted something “productive” to happen… well the next thing I remember is that… some sort of hypnagogic about a fast forward button being pushed, while in a transitional state.
then fucking…

something went off, and I was dreaming, and sleeping, in a monsrously INSANELY FAST MANNER… WHOOSH fucking clips of images just … franticly going by, and I’m like obvious, I’m like then BAM it stops, and … deep sleep is fastforwarding…

and then… again… deep sleep fast forwards, I am … me… and I am… pondering what is going on… and… it’s all very fast… and… I sort of… wake up… and I am somewhat confused, and look at the time, which doesn’t entirely make sense… then I wake up for real… and it’s abou 3:22 … 3:34 right now while writing this.

and nothing that happened makes any sense or has any compatible with the waking world, I want to say it was a linear and fast set of events, but I don’t know at what time it started, and though it feels like it’s abou right, that it should be 3… like… the same amount of time spent sleeping has always been the same… like… clips of blank space, and some “dreams” … the difference here is I perceptually “experienced” all stages of sleep, in a huge fucked up blur…but it still feels the same as if I had spent the first cycle of sleep in normal guage, except there was absolutely no normal dream, unless the whole thing were a dream experience, but… it certainly was no normal dream experience.

I think my third eye region was actually kind of active during th is.

heh… i’ve no idea wtf just happened… it didn’t feel… scary… or … unnatural… it didn’t give me a “rush” or … leave me waking up in a state of confusion and disrepair, I feel entirely normal, but this experience was absolutely fucking insane in … content… and retrospection.

i suppose I"m really awake right now, and I am still wearing the same clothes, and it is still december 15, 2004… so… if I jumped universes, or something, I’ve no clue. but yeah… this is … just a little odd.

what I’m trying to say is I experienced sleep in rapid fire fast forward motion through all stages of sleep, as if i had a dvd player on ff 16x… that is what it was like.

LOL @ newbieLD… yeah your post was a little confusing to me too holy one… anyway pretty weird stuff i have no clue wtf was going on

Yep same here, obvious that it was written moments after waking up. Don’t know why your dream would be fast frward but i’d take it as a positive experience.

Sense make’s no dream, again write slower make sense to.

Mystery

huh, that’s pretty cool… very unique experience. don’t know what to say besides congrats i guess :content:

yeah i wrote it in a not so clear state of mind.

it doesn’t really make any sense… i’m wondering if it was some sort of meditational state relating to “ego loss” …?

the fast forward motion now that i think of it is much simlar to just feeling your mind go to sleep… but the fact that it phased itself into different “feeling” like… dreaming fastforward vs deep sleep fast forward, I don’t know.

then i wanted an LD, and it gave me an FA… which I guess I could have used as an LD but… I wasn’t thinking at the time, I wanted to wake up as I was pretty confused.

You experienced Time/Ego loss. Now became Then and whats to come. To me, it’s what Dreams are and we all experience it every night (but usually in a dream where it’s completely normal). But to experience it while “conscious” it’s a wonderous feeling and impossible to convey with words. It has to be experienced to witness the true weirdness it is.

You exist while not existing in your existance of nonexistance.

so what is ‘ego loss’ in detail

but i still had a sense of self, until it got “sleepy” and disorganized, but while i was supremely conscious i was able to analyze, it wasn’t necessarily what i would think of when i think of the term “egoloss” but… i dunno.

Ego isn’t Self. Ego is False Self. Ego is your name, your Self that exists in relation to everything else and creates the Illusion of Seperatedness. Your thoughts however, your memory, the “I Am” part never goes away. Usually Ego Loss also equates to Time loss, which futre and past events merge into the eternal Now…hours becomes minutes and minutes years. It’s seeing through that Third Eye you felt, I think. After all, your eyes do not see, your Mind sees. Your eyes are lenses that directs the light to your Pupil and after a series of chemical and elecrical reactions, becomes “reality.” Who says they are only lenses we have?

But that’s my opinion of course.

Holy Reality: it sounds like you have experienced a special kind of WILD that has been accerlated or fast-forwarded. I have had few of them when I was young and I had no idea what they were… leave alone the “lucid dream.” I remember falling alseep so fast, but yet I was very conscious. While in that weird stage, I fell into a spiral of endless mirrors (memories) and the deeper I went, the more mirrors seemed to appear with vivid images that was less and less associated with the actual memories… BAM, I would realize that I was in the mirror itself (dream). All within five seconds… or that was how I felt. For years, it happened at least once a year so I began to call them, “Speed Sleep.” Not until many more years that I found out about WILD and that some people meditate deeply (WILD is similar to some trances that people who meditate regularly go thru). I learned about lucid dreams and what they were standing for. I studied more about “Speed Sleep” and I soon realized that it was a form of WILD, but except that I somehow found out how to fast-forward it.

Also… it means you might be talented in it. Next time when you experience that, try to keep in it… the next thing you know might be that you’re dreaming! Also if it was from your naptime, it might be the reason why because sometimes sleeping in out range of regular schedule can lead to strange experiences. Maybe you were unconsciously thinking about that book and it caused you to be conscious through your sleep. No idea.

All I know for sure is that it’s a form of WILD.

haha dude I read that while I was stoned and it made perfect sense… wow. that is really interesting. nice job explaining you made it perfect

w…ow

you must have been pretty damned stoned for that to make sense.

wow.

anyway, i’m not at all talented in this, it’s very rare that i get a successful WILD, but I can go to the hypnagogic state in 0-15 minutes…

falling asleep? No, that takes me at least an hour, even if I’ve technically entered “sleep” within the first 15 minutes of trying, I just can’t stay “out” …

…sounds like you just had a “psychadelic experience”.

no seriously, this is reminiscent of a moderate lsd dose “ego loss” experience, if you ever wondered what that felt like… just shorter and that it hit you unexpectedly.
