What is happening to me?

I think I need some help. I stopped dreaming, or at least I stopped remembering my dreams!

Has anybody experienced this? Has anybody overcome this?

Are you keeping a dream journal? Also when I forget my dreams in the morning I’ve found it helps to read through old dreams in my DJ and sometimes a dream just pops into my head.

Yes, It happens to many people. It’s called a dry spell.
I, right now am suffering a very severe one. I haven’t really remembered a dream from about a week or 2.
It’s ok, the dry spell should subside sometime. For me, full moons usully snap me out of it. :content:

I had full moon two days ago AND yesterday
Weird,eh?
Yeah,i’ve been suffering short dryspells since i joined…I usually remember a dream r two,but i don’t write them all down.
Don’t worry,it’s gonna go away ^^

Eh I think one of the two wouldn’t have been a completely full moon. Just very close.

Lately I have gone from remembering a couple of dreams a night, to just one every few nights. Are you feeling especially tired or sick at the moment? I think that is my problem.

Hi Tomothy, I dont feel tired. I’m studying maths lately. That means that I’m learning new things. Maybe this is affecting me big time. I’d like to hear some opinions on this.

since a month[or 2], i dream, i don’t remember what i dream , and when i dream it’s like i watch a movie and i don’t pay attention to it…in the morning i remember that i dreamt, i remember one or two faces and nothing more

I had my big dryspell in 5th grade. I was almost in tears. I had just Read Chronocles of Narnia: Prince caspian and thought it was like Narnia and I was too old to return. But hey! I’m back. Then I found this site!!

man, ever since i stopped keeping a dream journal i can’t remember my dreams worth shit. I can a little bit better now though, even though i still am not keeping one. I really need a book to wrie them in and im really picky on what kind of book i want lol. so i need to go buy one. THIS SUCKS, i don’t know what happened to my last dream journal!!! My mum must have taken it or something cause it just disappeared one day. and now i dont live with her so i cant try to find it

I have 2 dream jouranls in past 3 months and i get tired of writing in them cuz i have other classes in which i have to WRITe Write write!!! so i stopped writing. i only write down important dreams— and im happy i have’nt gotten a dry spell yet! But like ever1 is saying here, Dont worry! if u want, u will recall dreams!

Go to sleep with the intention of remembering the dreams when you wake up. Just picture to yourself, in your mind, how you wake up and calmly recall the dreams. Dont put any emotions attached to this intention like anticipation, stress etc… Just go to sleep with that intention in mind, easily and calmly.

The fact you have been learning a lot should in my opinion cause you to have more dreams, but it differs from person to person.

As you are studying, your mind is getting tired, like when you’re reading a book and you finish it and just have to go to sleep…

But, since what we do in dreams is kind of an update to our system, the fact you’ve learnt a lot should indicate you having many dreams…

A few tips…

Waking up naturally is much better than by the use of an alarm clock that shoots you out of bed.

After you wake up, don’t rush out of bed, lie there for a couple of moments without trying to think of any dreams or anything specific. Just lie in your bed, look up and let your thoughts wonder.

You can also , before you go to sleep, choose to wake up after a dream has finished.
(as you make a wish to remember your dreams, while drifting off to sleep)

reIV had a really good post and a good point. just about a week ago i had been having a dry spell for about 2 months. It was really boring. The thing that totally knocked me out of it was 1. having the intention to dream and remember my dreams. 2. Reading other peoples dreams. and 3. Reading my own old dreams.
It also helps to really want to dream and to be exited about dreaming.
Hope it helps.
