What is this dream made of?

We were on some type of hill. There was grass everywhere, bulbs too. I’d say when it started, it was the evening, but led into the night.
There were black and white slaves both working on this hill, pulling the grass and putting it in the bags. I was one of these slaves.
The bags were big, a brownish gray color, and made out of a cheap, rough fabric material. The “plantation” owner would just ride
around on his horse, sometimes not. He wasn’t mean tous. I’d actually say he was alright. But he was selfish. I remember when it reached
night time, a new black slave, a woman slave, came to work. She brought strange “animal” looking things covered with s sheet made out
of the same fabric that the bags were. I caught a glimpse of them, and I thought they were sheep. When she introduced herself to the
“plantation” owner, the “owner” also introduced himself. He was on his horse, and pulled out a bulb out of the ground, and with a square
lantern he introduced himself. I don’t remember what he said. The bulbs, I don’t remember how they looked in the ground, but when they
were free from the ground, they were a dark white color. In the middle of the bulb that was underground was large, rounded, like a bulb.
The most interesting aspect of the bulb was the loooong bottom root, just one, that I’m guessing was the one that went deep into the
ground and collected water for it. From the “owner’s” intro, I woke up.

It was a really strange dream, and semi-vivid. I remember taking Valarian Root during the night before I was going to go to bed.

What do you think this dream means?

The dreamer is usually the best person to interpret their dream…

If it was my dream …
the dream starts in the evening, darkness maybe representing things unseen/unknown
the selfish but ok owner seems to be trying to do the right thing while still putting his own comfort first… I think it is probably impossible to do this.
he actually took out a bulb himself when faced with the new slave. a bulb can also mean a light bulb… it was even hidden in the soil but now it is visible to all … he even had a square lantern so more light is mentioned here.
sometimes when someone gets an idea in cartoons a lightbulb shows above their head…

So what does the dream mean to you? :content:

I tend to avoid that english literature GCSE method of analysing dreams (personal preference, of course) and would tackle it like this:

The main character is the slave owner person. This will symbolise a person or something that is controlling you. You like this person (you didnt find them oppressive or anything in teh dream), or at least dont dislike them, but you are subconciously aware that they are controlling you perhaps a bit to much. The black slave woman may represent the same person/thing, or another that is giving you the same effect.

Reading moogle’s analysis again, i second the notion that light plays an important part in here, but the exact meaning of it can only really be interpreted by you.

Hope that helped, Ivan.

on a side note, how about a subforum for people wanting help with interpreting their dreams? I think that that would be an EXCELLENT idea and would visit such a subforum frequently (the forum listing is looking a bit long atm and could do with some tidying up). Any moderators/admin/empowered people please seriously consider that idea.

sorry IvanTheCat for going a little off topic here…

 Last Man Standing, LD4all’s main goal is lucid dreaming, there are plenty of forums/websites that do specialise in dream interpretations. pasQuale is happy for all normal dream discussion including interpretations to be posted in this forum, but doesn’t want to lose sight of what LD4all was created for…
You can always post your interpretations in the dream diary forum  but requests for interpretations in there are frowned upon.
