I just wanted to ask what techniques are getting people their lucid dreams. I wanted to compact that info into one thread. My first decent ld was from a WBTB that i didn’t plan. Most of my LD’s are DILDS and i’ve never really tried WILD but had a few WILDS spontaneously. i never rode a WILD all the way through but have had LD’s later that night.
Also, what is everyones dreamsign category according to laberges method of cataloging dreamsigns (action, form, context, and inner awareness). Mine is action and only beats context by one dreamsign. Theres actually only 5 varied context dreamsigns with one in particular that occurred 4 more times, adding to its frequency. I think one of my strongest dreamsigns is living in houses i moved out of (which is a context sign but i apparently would be best off observing the actions in situations).
Most of my LDs have been DILDs, but WBTB works great. I don’t do it much though, with the whole problem of getting up and all… My biggest DS has been white walls, but I always forget to do a RC. Other things trigger me off though, so that’s good.
Like you guys, most of my LDs are DILDs, with WBTB. I don’t know if they happen because of the MILDs I sometimes do…or if they just happen because of RCs during the day. But, I’ve really never been successfull with WILD. I always drift off to sleep and lose conciousness too fast. I’ll be counting or something, and then 5 seconds later, realise im not even counting, and I wonder when I stopped counting…lol. I think the only WILD I’ve been remotely close to was with using that HILD method. Where you move your fingers slightly and do a RC 30 seconds in to the tech.
Yeah…anyways I stick to trying to use MILD with WBTB and RCs to form some kind of DILD.
I really don’t see a common DS, and that makes it kind of hard. I do have a slightly repetitive one (same as Probobo), where I live in houses I don’t live in anymore, or even houses I never lived in. I guess my environment is my DS. I never really dream in familiar environments. And if I do, they are somewhat disorted and different.
Yes, WBTB seems to work the best for me also. After that comes DILD that is iniciated by MILD when i go to sleep, or during wake-ups.
Context seems to have the most effective for me also, and sometimes it’s mixed with other signs. For example seeing myself in mirror, noticing that something is wrong about the location that looks like the same place in RL, but actually is somehow different, etc. But the best DS is my childhood home, where i have moved out also.
Hmm… my LD’s have all been DILD’s from taking afternoon naps. I’ve tried WILD and MILD, but I get easily distracted when I hear a noises outside so I’m still practicing both of those techniques
Hmm. All three of my lucid dreams so far happened totally by accident while I was in the middle of a normal dream, so I don’t have any conscious method of obtaining them. However, I did notice some similarities in the moment of becoming lucid in all three:
I was indoors each time in very ordinary-looking, plain buildings. It doesn’t sound like a very effective dreamsign, but my dreams are usually really full of exotic locations and weird landscapes (or if I’m indoors, HUGE complicated maze buildings). So something as rare for me as a plain house is bound to strike a chord deep down!
My LD’s are DILD’s. Most of them have occured after a WBTB. I’m using autosuggestion methods, and sometimes RC’s.
About dreamsigns, they vary according to time. My categories are action (flying, driving a car); context (seeing UFO’s); and inner awareness (fear).
I mostly just snap spontaneously into lucidity when I see something strange. Cause IRL, when I see something strange I do a RC, so It’s like a habit, and when I see somethin’ strange in a dream, I do a RC, and become lucid!
One of my best DSs is seeing a dead person. That’s how I’ve had my one and only LD so far…talking to a dead guy…RCing…Lucidity, baby!!!
