what to do in paris???

Me and my sister are going to be in paris for a week and im wondering wath cool things we should do??

Anny sugestions and tips are greatly apriciated

Drink coffee! Seriously, coffee in France equals seriously cool

Also, obviously, pay a visit to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc du Triomphe (or however they sleep it those days)…

…and whatever you do, do not pay a visit to the Louvre museum. For a teenager, it might sound cool, there’s the Mona Lisa and all, but it is not worth it. Seriously. Do an intense course on history of the art and spend some substancial time in Paris if you’re planning to visit the Louvre.

I don’t know very well Paris, but my favourite walks were :

  • Even if you don’t visit the Louvre Museum (I agree with Bruno, there is too much people and it’s too big  ), you can see its buildings, the Garden of Tuileries and the Pyramid. Then near the Louvre, along the embankments of the Seine, there are secondhand booksellers :read: . On the other side, there is a sort of old castle, it’s called La Conciergerie. I liked to cross the Pont-Neuf to go to the Cité Island and the Place Dauphine. There is a market with flowers :flower: and birds :fly: on the Island, I don’t remember where, it’s near the Sainte-Chapelle. Of course, on the Cité Island there is the cathedral Notre-Dame. You have absolutely to walk upstairs to the top of the towers of Notre-Dame, it’s great! :cool_laugh:

  • I like too the quarter of the Garden of Luxembourg and the Pantheon. It’s relatively peaceful. If you want to follow Bruno’s advice and have a coffee, it’s possible here at a rather low price (if you have a coffee near the Louvre, you’ll pay 3 times more :bored: ).

  • Of course, you have to see the Eiffel Tower. It’s near the garden of Champ-de-Mars and the Palais de Chaillot. You can have a long walk from the Champ-de-Mars to the Esplanade des Invalides, then you cross the beautiful Alexander III bridge and you’re near the Champ-Elysées (though I’m unsure you can see the Arc de Triomphe from there). :eh:

  • I didn’t visit Versailles, it’s not in the center of the town, but I’m sure it’s absolutely wonderful!

  • Other interesting things are the Sacré-Coeur church on the Montmartre hill; the Museum of Orsay : I didn’t go to this museum, it’s perhaps better to visit it than the Louvre (there are impressionists painters and others like Gauguin, Van Gogh, etc). But you have to pay to visit a museum in France.

Lol  You are absolutley right bruno

thanks a loot guys  I will defintly visit the Eifel tower ,allthoug i have alredy been there allthough it was like 7000 years ago, and i was only there for like 2 days.

But i dont really know that much about france, my whole oppinion on paris is prettymuch based on the Knowing me Knowing you with Allan Partige show when he are in france

sacre coeur and montmartre are very nice. I love the sacre coeur. on montmartre you have all the artist painting portraits and such. You almost get mugged to be painted  But if you are looking for that experience, go there  Very very crowded though and don’t go to a restaurant or have coffee there, it is extremely expensive.

I was about to suggest to visit the louvre  if you only focus on one or two exhibitions you can see a lot. There is one day a week, i believe the first tuesday of the month that it is free. (very busy then though).

you can take the bus to versaille or r.e.r. (kind of a fast tram) to versaille or saint germain. Versailles is very nice, especially the gardens (but you have to pay now for those.)

st germain is very nice, there is a large garden/park there.

if you like jazz, go to st denis, there are all kinds of little cafe’s there. St Denis also has a big flea market, if you like that kind of things.

there is a lot to do in paris.

also, if you go and see arc de triomphe, you are automatically at the champs elysee, the most famous street of paris. Everybody who wants to be seen goes there. Extremely expensive there as well though. If you want to see a movie, go there, the movie theatres there have movies in the original language, as opposed to dubbed in french.

How cool i love jazz! Im definetly gonna go there

after 6 in the evening the cafe’s start to open and you’ll hear the musicians playing as you walk by.

i got this tip from my husband, i myself have never been in that part yet

Oh, make sure you do a handstand right under the eiffel tower. Then the french will know that u mean business!!

Woot!?!?!?!? i dont really get that

Lol, it wasnt supposed to be logical

But i know that when u go to the eiffel tower…you’ll think about it :plotting:
