Some years ago, I had this freakish experience. It wasn’t a lucid dream, I rather experienced reality in a distorted way.
One afternoone after school, my girlfriend and I were sitting at the bus stop and waiting for the bus. I was kind of dozing and daydreaming. When I woke up some time later, I said to my friend that I found it strange that our maths teacher hadn’t come along yet, since she always passed by at this day. I did not say this consciously but rather accidentally and because it just came to my mind in this moment.
She was amazed and said she had just passed by and said hello to us. And she had looked confused because I had just been staring at the ground and didn’t show any reaction
Then I vaguely remembered my daydream. I had “dreamt” we were sitting on a bench and somebody had come along, maybe a friend of hers, I don’t know. Anyway, I did not find it necessary to say hello to this person. I would have considered this a dream if my friend had not told me that our teacher had really passed by. All this seems totally weird to me since I actually had no free will in this dream. You certainly all know this from normal non-lucid dreams: things happen you do not question, and you cannot act willingly; it’s just like in a movie, but you do not see very clear: you do not look at the environment or you don’t remember it, the only thing you vaguely remember is the main plot…
I found this experience really cool and fascinating, and I wonder if anybody else has had similar experiences.
Maybe this was not the only time that reality influenced my daydreams because I often forget them when I “wake” up or when I am woken up.
However I wonder how you would call this experience. Was it normal daydream or hypnosis? How can I have more of these experiences? It was damn cool, like being on drugs, but don’t want to take any dangerous drugs to get suche experiences again.
