What when you become LD

So,
I wanted to ask a question about becoming LD.
I heven’t been had a LD yet, so I’m afraid that when I get one I am gonna act like Yeah! Finally! and I wake up.
Or that when I get a LD I forget everything I want to do.
Has one of these things happened to you are could someone explain to me how it feels having an LD?
Thanks in advance
~Lazy

I’ve only a few LDs so far, and I’ve not gotten much done in them. I have had times where I forget what to do, but it isn’t as often. It hasn’t felt much different, but I’ve yet to be really lucid.

Everyone experiences problems with their LDs from time to time. However, the issues become less common as you get used to them.

To prevent these problems, you can come up with a plan for what you will do when you become lucid. A good basic plan is to: 1. Modulate your emotions, 2. Elevate your awareness, 3. Focus, and 4. Establish your intention. This is often called “MEME.” Have a preset goal for you to accomplish in your LDs, and try doing “lucid drills” periodically during the day. Imagine what you would do if you were dreaming. But I could keep writing for pages and pages and you still wouldn’t quite get what I’m talking about, since the experience is totally original.

Oh, and “how it feels having a LD?” Well, for me the experience is varied. In my early LDs (which occurred randomly and infrequently), I often lost lucidity in seconds, or failed to maintain the dream. In my most recent LDs (which I can occasionally predict), I feel a sense of urgency. Subtle feelings like the breeze or the cold in the air are absent. My periphery is shortened. Sometimes thoughts pop into my head or I am forced to do something, but only once in a while. Quality is sometimes very bad, and sometimes so good that I am fooled into thinking I’m not dreaming.

Thanks, BUt could maybe tell me how long you were practising before you really had a LD?

the longest ld i ever had was my first, in my first i was like “wtf ??” i just realized and started to try things out, i had all the time to try out different things in this one lucid dream…but the more often i went lucid…instead of getting used to it, the more excited i got and the more i got excited the sooner i woke up until the point i woke up the second i realized iam lucid.
