Why cant I ever have a lucid dream?! I just dont get it Ive been trying for well over a year mayby 2 and yet I have not even been close to having a lucid dream. I mean if we want it so much that means our brains want it then why dont our brains go lucid while sleeping???
Just dont want it so much…stick to one method and practice that method. Make a journal. Are you stressed?
These are just the basic stuff…i think someone can answer this better
im a firm believer in constant reality checks during the day when first trying to become lucid.
remember every little instance that happens in your dreams that ONLY happen in dreams and that are impossible in real life, TRAIN yourself to see these things and know your dreaming instead of making an excuse for it in your dream head.
also remember the things that happen when you dream that happen in your waking life. when they occur in real life remember to do a reality check. after a while it will become automatic to do it when the same thing happens in your dream.
listen buddy, do RC’s heaps keep a journal and on days where u can sleep in set your alarm clock at 8:30am and then wake up turn the alarm clock off and say to yourself “I WILL BE LUCID” repeat this untill u fall asleep.
I know you have probbaly heard all this before and I know your probbaly thinking the same old advice doesnt help but it really can.
You know, just by sticking with it for as long as you have, it shows that you truly are persistent, (I gave up after a month when I first started) and if you’ve been doing this for a year theres no way you’re just going to up and quit after all that time and never have any LD’s. Be patient, it’s got to come sooner or later.
I beleive any technique can work for anyone, but some tech’s work faster for others and some may take years but I think everyone can do any tech as long as they keep it up.
Stick with RC’s, don’t get stressed if results don’t come so fast. They will come, just be patient, and have fun!
You wan’t to truely know why you can’t have it? It’s because you are preventing yourself from having it. Usually when people start out lucid dreaming (or even when they get on a “dryspell”), they tend to get impatient, and sort of unwillingly accept the fact that they won’t have one, no matter how hard they try. This is exactly what has happened to you. Lucid Dreaming comes when you unlock a door in your mind. To unlock that door however, you cannot have the slightest bit of doubt in your thinking, or else that door will be sealed even tighter.
You need to relax about everything, and simply expect and believe that tonight, you will have a lucid dream. No questions asked. Your brain will give you one if you request it with a firm statement. Never ever think that you have a chance to lucid dream. Always think that you WILL have a lucid dream Good luck!
start slowly; one important thing is not to be lazy.
write your DJ after EVERY dream, and over the day try to look out for parallels to your dreams.
Dont force it, thats very important. Let it come naturally, and dont think that the RCs only prevent you doing stuff irl.
LD’ing is easy, you just have to think of that
Good luck!
