WILD and AP, differences

I’ve performed neither, and my question is to those who have performed both: The more I read about Astral Projection, the more similarities I notice in how it’s to be induced - Through a “mind awake - body asleep” state. Isn’t that the same as for WILD? How do you choose between the two when you’re in that state? Or, is AP no more than a dream, and therefore not “real”?

I don’t put my body to sleep for AP, I just ignore it. The goal for AP isn’t to put it to sleep, it’s to leave it. When I try putting it to sleep, I itch or end up getting uncomfortable, which hinders my ability to AP.

So instead I chose to ignore my body completely, assuming I am in the right frame of mind, I stop feeling my body below the neck. I have no sensation of it, the bed or the sheets, not even the sense of weight. It’s like it’s not there at all.

When I try putting it to sleep, I don’t feel like that, I feel the body at all times. Maybe that’s just me though.

So you use a different technique for each, that’s what I was hoping for. Thanks. By the way, can Astral Projection be used for espionage? Does the information you get from your AP sessions correspond to the physical plane?
