so i’ve been getting dreams very frequently about 5 times a week or so normal dreams but whenever i wake up in my dream and try to get lucid the dream just blacks out as im about to lucid dream which is a bummer for me i try to look into the blackness but is this the right thing to do because for me WILD is really hard since i am just starting out i’ve been trying for about 2,5 hours of trying to get into WILD but always get interupted by small thing like too much numbness or sneeze is there something special you should imagine or…? i know i’ve had lucid dream before but they were DILD’s only since i dont wanna lose hope on wilding anyone have any tips ?
Maybe you are doing it at the wrong time. For WILD it’s best to have at least 6 or more hours into sleep. That’s the first step because by doing this you are preparing your body for dreams because you REM stage is much longer then it is after 1 or 2 hours into sleep.
So after sleeping few hours you need to awake you mind and body but not too much. That’s why you should use WBTB and once you are back to bed WILD shouldn’t take more then 5 - 10 minutes.
When it comes to blackness I had similar problem. You said you lucid dreamt before so you know how it feels but by changing the way of becoming lucid you maybe made it a bigger challenge then you expected. I had quite a few lucid dreams before my problem manifested. So what happened is I would become successful with WILD, everything went just right and I’m in a dream but as 2 or 3 seconds of the dream passed I would loose lucidity and woke up.
I really made a problem out of it because I was really good at inducing LD but not maintaining one. I was really frustrated but I realized that I made the problem by believing that the dream will end as soon as I entered one. I noticed that every time that I would enter the dream and become lucid I would have this thought in my mind: “Quick, it’s gonna end again.”
As soon as I did think that thought the dream ended. Then I used meditation and I imagined myself entering the dream with no thoughts or and other thought then about the dream ending. So see if you maybe doing something similar. Because at the end you are the one that is making yourself seeing blackness!
a simple thing to remember about your dreams and when you go lucid is that its your thoughts that control them, just like a young baby u need to walk before you can run, and don’t be scared of the blackness just look around abit and listen to you mind, being a young creator is to create the least desirable thing ie blackness, when its far more interesting to create light, don’t let anything taken control of you in your dreams, after all it is your dream and no one elses*****DONT BE AFRAID****
Crystali: As to your issue with blackness, I have that problem occasionally in my lucid dreams. In fact, I had it in one of my DEILDs this morning. What I’ve found that works is to actually ignore the fact that you can’t see and try to engage other senses. Try feeling around in the dream even though you can’t see or try speaking and listening for sounds. Usually this is enough to slowly restore my vision, but I haven’t found a really foolproof method for restoring sight yet.
I did the same last night. I was as if my eyes were glued shut- very annoying. I assume it has something to do with the dream’s formation. Once, I saw a reality manifest in front of me during my normal sleep, and proceeded to become lucid. I have heard from others patience is the key. Good Luck.
